Playing seemed spot on (from what I saw) but I was having trouble hearing you at certain points.

Thanks- yeah I had some trouble with the levels when I mixed the audio and video, if the music was any quieter it didn't really sound as good- im hoping it didn't ruin the cover though!

Had Bank Holiday Monday off, so I decided to do a run through of the guitar based tracks on Origin Of Symmetry. Camera's a bit out of focus, and the performances aren't quite perfect, but generally speaking I'm happy with them, so I figured I'd post them as I don't think anyone on here's seen me playing yet really.

New Born -

Bliss -

Hyper Music -

Plug In Baby -

Citizen Erased -

Micro Cuts -

Screenager -

Dark Shines -

Just a bit of fun, but someone might enjoy them...

More video fun with the MB...

Also messed around a bit with...

Fury -

&

Stockholm Syndrome -

Although I've played a lot better...

cover of Sing for absolution :)

Thanks - I used an old Marshall (which was heavily modified). All sounds were from that and the guitar you see in the picture

watching your video now :)

No +Octave harmony in the intro? :(

I was considering doing that, but I just ended up doing it like on the hullabaloo recording. Used the piezo for the intro (but I think the battery was pretty much dead)

And I don't think it was ever a whammy anyway (at least not in the 1999/2000 recordings I've heard)

0:06 wtf is that

I'm pretty sure it's an harmony effect on the roland vg

when he plays :

He just plays the G string, and he plays the octave up on E string, and the harmony effect create the other note. I've tried it with a whammy and harmonisation mode, and it sounds like it.

EDIT : I made a crappy recording : http://soundcloud.com/tails59/muscle-museum-sound/s-uNIYq I just used my whammy pedal, I think it could sound better with a polyphonic whammy.

The flicking of the switches is still louder than the playing, surely you don't have your amps 'true tone' until you crank it a little?

My amp's got the option of power switching between 5, 15, and 30 watts, so you can get all the great sounds at much lower volumes than you'd otherwise be able to on the lower settings...Very practical for home use...

My amp has an attenuator in it too, but I dont find it sounds better when cranked, unfortunately I can't 'cause both my neighbours have small children and my room in right between them, plus I dont have a condenser mic to record so have to use the headphone jack which just means cranking the master volume which doesnt make a difference :(
