Hopix
I think Muse should just release a cover of Rudolph the rednose reindeer for Christmas. Yeah and rock it up a bit.
Furygirl
I think Muse should just release a cover of Rudolph the rednose reindeer for Christmas. Yeah, and maybe for the video, Dom could dress up like Rudolph and pull Matt and Chris in a sleigh! Chris could be Santa, and Matt could be a cute little elf. The possibilities are endless. NaZZeX
Despite being the least appealing song on the album, I really really enjoy it.
CarrieB
From watching the making of, it looks like Matt wasn't too sure of it when they were recording it. Mmmm, well I wouldn't blame him, maybe he lost the vote on this one! But I haven't seen the "making of" yet.

Pip
It seems to be getting a bad rap. Why? Oooooo, I'm not sure??! I know! I'll go and read the long Guiding Light thread and find out!

Tunavi
i dont think its that bad, but it sounds cheesy, and interrupts the building flow of the album
Novus Dies
It seems to be getting a bad rap. Why? Because if they didn't hate at least one song on the new albums they'd just start hating everything around them.... uber sykawlogy ....I haz it. Iddy
I like it, but it gets a bit 'meh' towards the end. Better than Starlight/SP/Invincible.
Hopix
i dont think its that bad, but it sounds cheesy, and interrupts the building flow of the album If you watch the making of DVD Muse said the point in it in parts is to sound cheesy, and I don't think it ruins the flow, the transition between CD and this is amazing, it's like the same song and it's nice before US as well. Just my opinion of course.
The Dying~Atheist
Lets face it we have been spoiled by Muse's brilliance over the years so when you hear a track like Guiding Light which is simply mediocre it's really going to notice. static shadows
Distorted synthy bass nearly saves it, and the vocals aren't bad. But overall it just sounds like a mess. And with a horrible U2 sounding gloss and horrendously 80's cheesy Van Halen solo...
Clunge
The vocal melodies are top-notch, and the bass and drums whilst simple, are effective. It's a tad corny though, but it does fit in with the rest of the album and its ethos.
Caff
I just think it would've been better as a bside. It's quite weak/dull. Also...merged with existing thread.

Raiko
I would say that too, but I really like Invincible too. They both kick Unnatural Selections ass in my books.

Raiko
Heavy Riffs >>>>> Dull, generic, predictable, cheesy, power-ballads. I wouldn't say heavy. It still sounds flat to me. That and it's very much predictable too. Recognisable Muse Riffs comparable to older material. A simple verse, chorus, verse, chorus, breakdown, chorus, structure with a typical Muse rock outro. Change breakdown to solo and you could be describing Stockholm Syndrome or Hysteria. As it is it sounds like Dead Star/In Your World too, just minus that last chorus. At best Guiding Light is quite distinctive for a Muse song. I can see people not liking the cheese, but Muse have been full of that since they started lol. I Belong to You is cheese too. Oh, i'm not one of those claiming it's a new Citizen Erased! The middle bits just too aimless and it's more solid than spectacular. But i'd still give Unnatural Selection a good 7 or 8/10, leaning towards the 8, cause that riff and verse are still damn good. Guiding Light though i'd give a 5/10, if I was feeling generous... Which is about what i'd give Invincible too! But I love I Belong To You! That's a ballad finally done well. It's like a mad carnival in a song. Your having a laugh my friend Unnatural Selection pisses over both of them, that said Invincible is also far better than this dull affair.
