That Little Animal
That Starlight -> FG -> Madness -> UD -> Revolt stretch......yikes. snooze fest. And yet it's the most unchanged bit in the set. They love it.
serpentsatellite
UD's being staple confuses me slightly, but the Starlight/Madness/Revolt thing shouldn't be a surprise. So much for Space Dementia. FG will never die. I'm still stuck on them tightening up the set, so we're not limited so much by the mandatory hits. It didn't really occur to me until my last gig (I've only seen three, so not that long) when Matt was actually leaving the stage in between most songs how much downtime there is. One song would end, lights would go down, Matt would leave the stage, come back get a new guitar, fiddle with something, and then there would often even be some sort of intro into the next song (be it the noise before PiB, Interlude, MWAH, etc.) It made the songs feel really compartmentalized to me, if that makes sense. It started to feel more like changing sets between musical numbers at a play than an organic gig (especially when Matt was off putting on a pair of LED glasses, or something; ) I'd be having a blast during the songs, but the "oh here we go..." would set in between. One person near me asked loudly if "that guy" had a prostate problem, or something. Maybe that's why the playback and intros keep bothering me more and more, because I felt like the flow of the gigs was really stilted to begin with, and it seems to have gotten worse for this tour. Except that one festival where they didn't do all of it, and was amazing.

Regilistic
I think a few things could make the sets really solid . Bring back the Hysteria/Map rotation and boot Resistance . Keep the rarity rotation (Bliss/CE/etc) slot . Add a piano transition song (B&H/CE/New Born) . Rotate UD/Madness . Add an extra song to the piano section. By doing those things we could get a setlist like: Drill Sergeant + Psycho Reapers Dead Inside Map/Hysteria Bliss The 2nd Law: Isolated System The Handler Supermassive Black Hole Prelude + Starlight Butterflies & Hurricanes Apocalypse Please/RBS/Sunburn Feeling Good/Eurasia UD/Madness JFK + Revolt Time is Running Out Uprising The Globalist Mercy Knights. Kobe
it really is that simple to satisfy everyone - maybe they do it in Europe - US will stay poppy and without showbizslot I guess.
Finn. I think 'no Stockholm' is the first thing that needs to be fixed tbh. I've done it before in the setlist thread but here's a reference for what I'd go for: *New intro* + Psycho Reapers Dead Inside Map / Hysteria Supermassive PIB / Bliss B&H (Piano on arm 1) Apocalypse Please / Sunburn (Piano on arm 1) *Isolated System* + The Handler Citizen Erased (Piano on arm 2) USOE / Feeling Good (Piano on arm 2) Madness (UD is pointless at this point so I'd just drop it, but I guess you could rotate that + Resistance here if you wanted) Mercy JFK + Defector / Revolt Uprising Starlight TIRO Stockholm Syndrome The Globalist + Drones Prelude + Survival / Take A Bow (cut if too long) Knights Maybe 20/21 songs is too optimistic though idk. halo eighteen
Missed all this... what happened in Dallas exactly with the late start and the drone fail? Combination of several things, but too ambitious of a stage setup with back to back nights in different cities, pretty much.

That Little Animal
My girlfriend who never saw a Muse show before, who is neither a fan, nor a hater and whose taste in music I largely admire, made some valuable comments during the night: - That song was horrible (After Resistance) - The singer's hair is really sad. Almost offensive. - At least the bass player is hot (During Feeling Good) - The singer doesn't know what kind of musician or showman he wants to be, it's like he has an identity crisis (During the camera eye-fucking in guitarless Starlight) - Do they assume we're all mice? Because they seem to think we like cheese. - Is that a flying dildo? Edited December 16, 2015 by That Little Animal
supralover23
Ugh. Best part of that concert was the dirty dog afterwards. Seriously, what is with Muse and Northern California? The rarest song we've gotten in the last five-ish years is what, MK Ultra? Pathetic. EDIT: CE and B&H at OSL, so not all horrible.
