forevermusic
I wasn't expecting much on the recordings but in person it's fucking humongous. I know the outro riff is basically RATM's Freedom with a different guitar part, but it still sounded fantastic. Hopefully the recorded version does it justice. Tobiiiaaas
Listening to Dead Inside followed by Psycho and Reapers. Man, I'm going to adore this album.
MartianSpaghettiRider
Considering that last information Matt has given out about the album in the phone interview with TripleJ, it may be safe to claim Drones is going to be quite a rollercoaster, musically speaking. Gareeh
I like how people called the chorus falsetto weak at first. It's heavy as fuck
Mattestro
Reapers > Psycho > Dead Inside Psycho > Reapers > Dead Inside I like how people called the chorus falsetto weak at first. It's heavy as fuck Though to be fair the first performance was quite weak.

Gareeh
And you don't think that it could have improved over the course of a few gigs since...you know...it's different performances? I more had in mind people saying they didn't like the song because the chorus was weak, after one performance I just listened to the Belfast one and it doesn't even sound weak imo
Hat
I more had in mind people saying they didn't like the song because the chorus was weak, after one performance Dunno anyone who fits that profile. Most people I saw said it sounded weak and that they hoped it would sound better after a few performances/in the studio, or simply that they didn't like the chorus. -FutureStar-
Reapers is the only track that has taken time for me to truly warm to, maybe because live recordings. But I bloody love this now. It's great. And it was brilliant live!
Bohemian-Cygnus-Running-Out
I couldn't believe it but this actually got stuck in my head for quite a white the other day. So much awesomeness stuffed into this track, I cannot wait for June to come around.
AJUltra
Can't help but notice how similar this song is to Sick, Sick, Sick by QOTSA in some areas. The guitar right before the vocals start sound almost identical to the intro and then you have the guitar played before the chorus that sounds like what's played after the chorus in the QOTSA song. I've only given it 3 or 4 listens though so its only a slight observation.
Tesseract
I really love this track all the way through now. If the remaining tracks on Drones live up to (or even surpass) this one, I will be a very happy fan. And I'll just try to forget that Dead Inside exists. Tesseract
Could someone point me towards the best version of Reapers available? Not sure if this is the best one, but you can definitely hear the beef of the guitar, and it probably has the best outro out of the various performances that I watched. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RoO4-ezNG4
jonisdead
I think I made out Morgan's backing vocals. It's either "You can run but you're never getting outta here" Or "You can run but you're never gonna hide (in here)" Probably the latter but the effects make it sound like there's an "in here" bit at the end

Dockertae
I can't decide whether this or Psycho is better. I like the urgency in the verses of this, and that solo...
