wikipedia says it's 3,300 standing *or* 1,700 seated, not 5k total...

I entered. If I win it'll be 'interesting' for one thing it's one of our kids' birthday and for another I'm down in London 2 days later anyway for fun. (and then back again for a star trek convention and a week after that for the O2 Saturday...)

I wonder how many of the tickets will be up for grabs on Muse.Mu?

The itunes thing said they had 160 prizes for each event, making only 320 tickets. Where are the other 3000 being distributed from - hopefully we will be told how many tickets are available in the competition.

Xfm and the Metro so far are also giving away tickets. I'm sure there will be other companies, just have to find them! So damn nervous, lol.

Thanks :). I think it is great that they are raising money for charity, as well as it being a good way to showcase the new songs.

Is the Roundhouse 5000?

I assumed it was 2000.

EDIT: A quick Google says it ranges from 1,700 to 3,300, depending on the inclusion of seats.

Wow - I always thought roundhouse was small :stunned: ...but then I haven't been there in years!

Whatever the exact size, it's a damn sight smaller than the normal enormodomes they play these days. Prob haven't got a hope in hell of winning, but got to try ... *enters comp* who knows - my time might be now! :D *runs away from bad pun*

Yes indeed, it certainly feels small when you're inside at least much much smaller than is usually the case for a Muse gig.

I hope there will be other ways to get hold of tickets. Of course a proportion of tickets might be taken by various corporates and VIPs as is unfortunately often the case with this type of thing.

Anyone brave enough to admit they've won will be inundated with private messages begging to be their +1!

They could also eBay themselves for a plus 1!! in theory you wouldnt be selling a ticket, but selling the possiblity of someone being their +1

Whenever I've been to the Roundhouse for the itunes fest, the stage and front barrier has seemed further forward. Maybe they shift things around to accomodate the filming, and this also lowers the capacity? (Obviously not that much though)

Thats what ive seen from other years gone by on the screen.. so probably the venue will only fill 3000 people standing.. there will also be press areas as well for interviews, as well as props so that might be even more reduced.

I wish they'd be more clear what 'soon' means, lol. If it's not by the end of the week, I'm gonna start panicking again :(

On another note, I'm assuming you can only apply once? I've read the rules, but it only says this about entering the competition more than once:

The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited. Mechanically generated entries will be discarded and may result in total and permanent disqualification from the Promotion, and all other promotions accessible via the http://www.itunesfestival.com website.

I don't actually know what kind of software can do that, lol, but I don't want to enter more than once if it will mean total disqualification!

I'm gonna raise my hand and admit that I use several different email addresses to apply for iTunes Fest tickets every year and I won tickets to Deadmau5 on one of them last week, so it doesn't matter! Apply to your heart's content! And take me as your +1! :p

Yikes. Only 320 tix via itunes itself?! That's a bit crap. You'd think they would have the majority wodge. Have never tried entering this thing before - is it normal to allocate such a measly amount? Tbh, even if the answer's yes, it is still crap. :( I have no prob with random allocation of winners, but it seems unfair and byzantine to have such a mishmash of numerous competitions, with small numbers of prizes. Why cant they have just one main competition, that everybody knows how & where to enter? *hmph*

As for "VIP" tix, grrrr. These are sposed to be GIGS ffs, not corp jollies, press conferences or adverts of new album.

Overall, the chances of winning a ticket are slim to practically nil! Pah. Maybe if I change my name to Charlie Bucket, I might improve my odds... *considers praying for a miracle*

Yes.

It reminds me of their Casino de Paris gig. It's supposed to be a gig for fans and you see so many people who actually don't give a shit about the band or are just there because it's cool to be seen at such a gig and got their tickets simply because they know the right people. Fuckers, they're not the ones who make musicians live of their music.

There's no way my parents will let me go to London again this year but I will probably enter the muse.mu comp for the lolz

Will feel bad if I win though :erm:

I fail to see how this would be lolzy.

you win: you feel sucky cause you can't go

lots of other people feel sucky because they could go but you won their ticket. What is the point?
