Probably a lot more sensible than asking for someone to mod it. Only thing I can think of is that I'd be cautious if you were the type that plays with their thumb resting over the neck but I can see it holding okay. It's clearly Gibson's move to cash in on Dave Grohl's newfound status as the savior of rock n roll, as well as the crazy high prices ($14k recently) that the original DG-335s can fetch.
