I adore this track. I know it's incredibly cheesy, but that's to be expected (especially for an Olympics song). I think it is the perfect blend of new and old Muse.

Prelude I really like. Don't see the point of it though because it doesn't exactly blend in with the song.

 

The intro reminds me of Frog Chorus and still makes me cringe. and the second verse isn't much better, the backing vocal shouts are pretty embarrassing, the high note at the end is painful and the lyrics are so bad it's funny.

 

However, when it gets going, the riff and the solo are incredible, some of the best they've done since Absolution, which sort of makes up for the rest of it. Nice falsetto and scream.

 

Well, it's meant to be a bit of fun, and it's enjoyable enough I suppose.

 

The bad bits are awful and the good bits are amazing.

Prelude and Survival reaction was "Matt's voice coming in after the build up sent me over the edge. His BIG voice matched with BIG instrumental sounds is CLIMATIC. My knees were literally weak and I wanted more" I don't know how MUSE does this, but their songs make me feel like I've just, well you get the picture...truly EPIC in my opinion Mind blowing...I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke

I love it so much its unreal. So what if its cheesy, it couldn't be dark for the olympics! And the lyrics won't be heard often in the TV coverage just the instrumental version. So so happy. I was scared I wouldn't like it or would have to pretend to myself that I like it but I genuinly love it

 

And the piano person Matt mentioned in the interview who will be playing at the closing ceremony and asked him to do the song I am sure is Laing Laing
