I know it's a jazz bass. (I figured that out all by myself) And I'm not sure Tom! but I rarely see people put a fender logo on their squier for example. Why? Probably because it wouldn't make sense... Having said that, I know EVH once had a gibson sticker on his strat's headstock...proper legit.

Jaicen
Ground strap? WHAAAT! That's a bit of a McGuyver if you ask me, I sure as hell couldn't live with it. A much better solution would be drilling the body through from the strap button through to a pickup cavity. The difficult bit is finding one long and thin enough if you don't want a dowel in the end when you're done.
matthijs
This is actually how it was done on early basses; no drilling! And if it's good enough for Jaco...
james90
Did the bass actually come stock with that? Can't say I've ever seen one before...but then again, I'm only a guitarist
zooropa1310
I've seen a few Fender custom shop 60's reissues come through and they had those. A lot of times they were hidden under the plate that covers the bridge. Edit: You can see to the left and right of the bridge where the bridge cover screws in

Can't say I've ever seen one before...but then again, I'm only a guitarist In all fairness, I hadn't seen it before. It's a stock feature though as far as I know. They didn't drill then to put a ground wire.

Jaicen
My 'local' guitar shop regularly sells start and tele necks with fake fender logos badly applied. Some are made in house but a lot come off those no-brand guitars that sell for about £99!

Jaicen
Hey, I have a MIJ Strat from 1990. EDIT SNIP: Just checked, it is a 1962 re-issue and it is amazing. I would actually run into a burning building to retrieve it. Better call it Lucille.. It is red as well. Am I in the club too? Impulse 101
I don't even have a Fender logo on my real 1965 Fender P-bass. I had it refinned in 1997. I never put a logo back on it. I like that it makes it seem less legit as its almost completely stock. JT
