Jimmyneutron
Or any other album for that matter. I clicked the wrong button and voted no. I meant to vote yes.
harrypottermegan
Yes because OoS wasn't the album that got me into them in the first place, so even though it's my favourite album now I still began liking Muse without it. I like all of the other albums a lot, OoS just stands out more for me. Oh and if it was any other album, then yes I would still be a fan.
Clunge
Mebbe. The singles from OoS drew me into Muse but I was already aware of them through Sunburn and MM. Plus, I love Absolution as much as OoS so I daresay they would have got to me somehow.
macgivera
I think yes because when I discovered Muse my love for OoS wasn't as big as now. It's not Origin what made me fell in love with Muse. On the other hand I would be far less amazed by them if OoS were never made.
RayFan9876
Yep. Oos wasn't that important for me. Plus if Oos wasn't made, then I'd have those songs all to myself!
Super Sammy!
Unless you were around in 2001/02 (near the album release), I don't really know how you wouldn't be a fan. You're basically asking everyone if they like anything other than Origin! Personally, I'm a Black Holes era baby, and I still like that album the most. Farelial
Well, without OoS there likely wouldn't be Absolution or BH&R as they are....
Dominic.
Well, without OoS there likely wouldn't be Absolution or BH&R as they are.... I think you're looking to deep into the question. And yes I'd still be a fan. It was TIRO, Hysteria and Starlight that first drew me in to Muse
Niall
Bit of a weird question, but yes. I liked Muse since Unintended, and New Born and Plug in Baby got be interested casually, but it wasn't until Absolution that I became a massive obsessed Muse fan. Killer Rabbit
Yes, because there would still be a second album and chances are it would be a great record.
JoanaBliss
Yes. I wouldn't think so highly of them if there was no OoS, but absolutely yes.
Furygirl
But if OoS were never made, all the subsequent albums wouldn't sound they way they do, probably. But yes, sure I would still be a fan, just maybe not as massive a fan. I didn't know about them when OoS came out, so BHAR is what hooked me. Spectrum IV
No Origin? Yep, I'd still be a fan. No Absolution? I would've never heard Hysteria, downloaded the full album, fell in love with B&H, SFA and TIRO, and then bought the rest of their albums.
OpenMinded
If the first 3 albums were never made I wouldn't be a fan, I wouldn't appreciate black holes as much but I'd still like it, and I'd hate The Resistance even more.
Dannyveno
Got into Muse by listening New Born, so i wouldn't be a fan. Not that I'm really a Muse fan anymore.
hyper_chondriac_muser
It would be a bit extreme to be a fan of the band based on one album - you'd be more a fan of those particular songs than the band itself. I wouldn't have as much love for Muse if there was not OoS, as I think it's their best work by far, but they've made plenty of other brilliant songs, and their live performances as a whole are reason enough to be a fan. QubiQ
I had liked Muse from the first listen which was Muscle Museum when they debuted, but tbh, I didn't like OoS first, especially PiB which was the first song from the album I listened to on a radio. I got more interested in them thanks to Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations, so the answer would be yes. But anyway, happy birthday to OoS. drawakangaroo
Well, Origin is the album that got me hooked on Muse, so I'm not exactly sure if I would have become a fan if I had heard songs from the other albums instead. I'd guess yes, though.
Lauren.
All the albums have their merits, so yes I would probably still be a fan.
futurellama
OoS was the album that got me into them, so I dunno. Perhaps the other albums would still have been enough to induce my hardcore fanboy phase, but I doubt it. I certainly wouldn't count myself as a fan now if it weren't for OoS. static shadows
I first heard of Muse through OOS/Hullabaloo and it's the reason I became obsessed with them as a teenager. Without it I'd still most likely have be a fan, and would probably have first heard of them through Absolution instead (which I still really like). But I'd have never been as big a fan as I was, and they certainly wouldn't have had as large an impact on my teenager self. In fact, despite liking the other albums and loving some individual tracks, OOS is still the only album which really has a large impact on me now! forevermusic
I came into Muse through Black Holes, or rather at the end of the Black Holes period, so I'm unsure. If Origin had never been made Muse would be a different band, but if its a case of it just being straight Showbiz to Hullaballoo/Absolution jump then I would still be on the good Muse ship, even if it would be a much different Muse without Plug in Baby, Bliss, Citizen Erased, etc. Least Feeling Good wouldn't always be played live

But then it's a silly question anyway. For example, without OOS there might not be Stockholm Syndrome (which started off life as a live ), or Butterflies and Hurricanes (whose piano solo was an intro for the ). hipbones
I took interest through Absolution. So yes, I'd still be a fan.
The Final Track
Probably. I started listening Muse through The Resistance, then bought Origin Of Symmetry. If it hadn't been around I would probably have bought Showbiz.
