james90
I'd go with alloy, like the first red glitter had...this looks a little over the top in my opinion I do like the black surround with the red glitter though...everything seems to match up nicely
Dominic.
I think the Chrome surround matches the hardware nicely, just the big white pad contrasting against the black guitar I don't like. But I agree on the reg glitter black xy surround

james90
someone replace the white plastic under the screen with translucent black perspex! I'm not going to screw around with the MB-1, but I've been planning to get a blacktop tele and one of gazlang's kits....would it still work if I changed it? I don't know what his kits include, but I think the MB-1 has a plastic screen...it's definitely not perspex or whatever the M1D1 had
Phill
there's the actual kaoss screen which is clear, and underneath that is a translucent white layer. just change that for a black one.
james90
So it would be the part in the back that would be changed? That has nothing to do with how it functions?
hooglebug
that white bit is just a piece of white opal plastic. if you could get black opal plastic that would look cool, but im not sure it exists. you could try transparent black and sanding it on the underside with fine paper or wire wool see how that would work. its easy enough to change things back
Phill
opal, that's the word i was looking for. nah james, it's just there so that you can't see straight through the screen to the cavity and LED and it gives the light something to refract off. JimboMansonMB-1
So it would be the part in the back that would be changed? That has nothing to do with how it functions? Just so the colors show up Which, of course, is the whole point of the guitar. So yes, the white screen is the thing that makes the guitar function at all, really. DO NOT CHANGE Jk

james90
What would a chromed MB1 look like I wonder... I don't know if it would look right since it wouldn't be rounded off like the bomber This doesn't look too bad though, but the chroming did go bad on it

james90
no, the white part in the middle is where the chroming went bad. iirc the owner had it painted blue there afterwards.
Russell_A
Has anyone got decent soundclips of the MB-1 through a decent amp?
Muse-Fanatic
Is that just the picture? It looks like it has one of those Fender "Antigua" finishes I'm the owner of that guitar. The chrome job did in fact go wrong. The same way it went wrong with the Matts bomber. I got Hugh to do an airbrush paint job which looks absolutely outstanding. I love it more than any other guitar in my collection!
