InvincibleBliss
I had to pull out the lyrics right away! But out of all seriousness I absolutely love that song. My friend thinks I'm crazy...
drawakangaroo
Um, I'm pretty sure nobody understood it the first time. I think I picked out the word "should've" the first time, though.

Dominic.
I never understood the lyrics then and I still don't now doesn't matter to me though, I think of his voice as just another instrument really, just forgetting about the lyrics
Tofu
doesn't matter to me though, I think of his voice as just another instrument really, just forgetting about the lyrics I'm the same way, really. It actually took me years before I understood lyrics in songs at all simply because I never really bothered to listen to them. But first time listening to Micro Cuts I did understand "to our souls"

paemchen
Oh sure. My favorite part is about "destroying puppies dreams with our shoes." Or maybe the one about loving Moonpig. Hmmm...

Gohenko
First time I listened to the song I couldn't understand a thing what Matt was singing. But now I can hear the lyrics too, but I still don't understand them...

Ragingnewborn
Lots of wailing. I got the 'puppet strings' bit after about listen number.... 500000. Then I read the lyrics and it kinda makes sense.... Kinda...
Levus
First time I heard the song, I hated it. Couldn't understand the lyrics and the melody seemed incoherant and random to me. Now it's probably my favourite on the album. I also had trouble understanding the lyrics up until recently now that I've memorized most of them. I thought that on the chorus he said "mercé, why you doing that?" instead of "I've seen what you're doing to me". In-fact I still don't understand some of the lyrics. I just looked up the lyrics and the part where he says "megaphone screaming my name" I always thought he said "butterfly screaming my name". sunburnt-bliss
Yeah, all I got from the first listening (and to make it even worse, the first time I heard it was from the recording on HAARP) I only understood that Matt inevitably has girlier vocal cords than a girl... I also gave up trying to sing along a LONG time ago...
~Tom
It was the first muse song I listened to, so yes, I comprehended how amazing it was.

miss_meadows
I could only make out one line: "someone you should've loved", nothing else. I found it rather annoying for a while but never skipped it either (I never skip songs on albums, way too lazy to do it). Then I started to like it for its weirdness. Ami34
Like most people, I had no idea what he was singing the first time and I'm pretty much the same now I remember listening to it for the first time and I was like "WTF?!" and left it on because I thought I would give it a shot (definitely the best choice).
