Hey there. I don't know why FB isn't pulling up my blog posts lately. But I thought you might actually enjoy this one. http://evansgarden.blogspot.com/2010/04/everything-book.html As a fellow librarian and parent. I'm sure you have similar stories!

Thanks, Nicole. We're trying to look at things as the open door instead of an open window, if you know what I mean. Part of the reason I wanted to have a garden for Evan is because I can have a garden just about anywhere. I knew there'd be a possibility of moving one day, so I wanted to give myself flexibility...and continue enjoying and remembering Evan wherever we end up.

Hey. I just got an email from 99x saying that they'll be doing ticket giveaways next week. go to their website 99x.com and join the freeloaders. Supposedly, the freeloaders get a heads up on what time the ticket giveaways start. If that makes sense. Just thought you might be interested! I imagine these are GA tix.

I think if I pm'd him, he might just get irritated with you. You could try again tomorrow, with a "Are we still on for those tickets? I got the money situated." or something. then maybe you'll find out if he's already sold them. Good luck!

Haha! That's funny that you were eavesdropping...because I saw your mention of Burl Ives in a previous post, and thought of him singing "kiss her once for me!" in that song Holly Jolly Christmas. My husband thinks he sounds like a bit of a lech!
Anyway...Duncan is not one for trying new things. He's a terribly picky eater. So, I doubt he would try the slippery elm. even if it tastes good. He's 3.5. He did give us quite a scare. He's had the croupy barklike cough before, but it's never developed into the constricted windpipe. Hearing the labored breathing was frightening. He started to cry a bit, and he really struggled then. Thankfully those breathing treatments seem to work really quickly. Pneumonia is really scary. I don't think people realize it's so dangerous. I gotta get to bed. Take care.

Duncan has the croup. He seems to be more prone to it than his siblings. He started sounding like something might be going on on Tuesday (he sounded a little barky when he cleared his throat), but he wasn't coughing, no fever, acting perfectly chipper. He was fine all day. At bedtime his breathing started to sound labored. He woke up around 2:30am and sounded really bad. Really constricted throat. He still didn't have a fever, and only an occasional barky cough. But the difficulty with breathing was very scary. We called the nurse's line. they recommended sitting in the bathroom with the shower on really hot. Did that. Worked a little, but when they called back and heard his breathing, they said to take him in. Justin took him (and I stayed home with Miranda, who was also up and cranky.) They did a breathing treatment with a steroid mist in it plus some liquid steroid. They were gone till a little after 6am (and I had just got Miranda down around 5:30..with all the flooding rain that night, too)! Duncan's still on the steroid, but overall sounds so much better. He's coughing a little more, but it's more a productive cough than the barky business. Ok, that's my novel!

I thought about getting tix to Boston, because my sister lives there, but it would just be a pipedream. Justin's job situation is unstable right now, so I don't really need to go too crazy. He'd probably be ok with me going early in the day, but he'd think I'm weird. I'm not sure I'm going to go for barrier. i'm def. not tough enough to deal with the mosh pit. unless it's the conga line mosh! haha!

Hey there. I asked Justin what time he'd want to line up in February, and I got a, "I don't know. We'll see how I feel that day." I said something about chairs, he said, "I don't want to lug things around." Ugh! Husbands! I'm almost certainly going to bring some sort of chair, unless we show up at 6pm. The one thing I'm worried about is I know I'll need to go pee once we get inside. I don't want to lose my spot!
