DifferentPerson
Blackout. wow. Would love to hear it this tour because Matt's voice would really be suited to it now. I'd only be happy to see it again if Matt actually played the solo.
FabriPav
I hope they don't play it this tour.
LewisF
I'd love them to play it, if only matt played the guitar part. If not, then
Tim59
It was awesome on Haarp.
BeneficialCucumber
For me, it has to be The Small Print. I was obsessed for ages but then overplayed it so much that I was like nah m888 But then I relistened.
Bs
Just rediscovered Hate This And I'll Love You. Masterpiece. I love how the outro is reminiscent of the Sunburn intro at the start of the album too.

Picko
Hate This & I'll Love You. It's a shame that it faded into obscurity by the end of the Origin tour.
Pine-apple
I recently rediscovered ‘Muscle Museum’. I originally heard it on this site a few years ago, then bought the CD Hullabaloo and have been enjoying listening to it since.
Travis III
Knights of Cydonia probably got overplayed/overhyped back in the day, but listening to it now it's a really fun song.
smoledman
Apocalypse Please To any musical experts - are the 18 or so piano chords that finish the song distinct or repetitions?
smoledman
Hate This & I'll Love You. It's a shame that it faded into obscurity by the end of the Origin tour. That song features just about the highest note Matthew ever sung on record.
heyjackk
Apocalypse Please To any musical experts - are the 18 or so piano chords that finish the song distinct or repetitions? basic gist of it is C# (alterations) | F#m F#madd9 F#m || D D F#m D | Bm7 Bm7 Bm Bm7 | C# (alterations) | end on F#5 | I think that's correct but i could be wrong so yeah basically just revolves around 3 root chords and plays the different notes of the chords

smoledman
The more you know. It's probably not even in the top10 though tbh. I think someone on Youtube did the analysis and Showbiz had the #1 highest note and HTAILY had the #2.
smoledman
Why are you asking? I just always thought it was a very proggy way to end a song, he never got any credit from the music press for it.
heyjackk
I think someone on Youtube did the analysis and Showbiz had the #1 highest note and HTAILY had the #2. Showbiz, Micro Cuts and Survival all feature his highest recorded full note of G#5 while Dead Star and Hyper Music have background A5s
matthijs
I just always thought it was a very proggy way to end a song, he never got any credit from the music press for it. I don't think it's that proggy, good ending but nothing more.
smoledman
I don't think it's that proggy, good ending but nothing more. It's proggy in a early 1970s Genesis way. Think "Firth of Fifth".
matthijs
It doesn't compare in any way to Firth of Fifth if you ask me... loads more key changes and complex transitions in that. All the chords in the ending of AP are used often, and also true to key (just adding some different bass notes).
