  1. Welp. Anyways I don't really care about Anthony Fantano's opinion. I listened to the entire album and was thoroughly unimpressed by everything. At least on Drones we got some real bangers like 'Reapers'. Not a single track on this LP like that.
  2. Well all the reviews are in and the consensus - the album sucks ass. Honestly this is where I get off the Muse train for good. I'll still go back and listen to the old songs, but I just can't give a rat's ass about this band anymore.
  3. I'm not saying he doesn't practice or try to improve his skills, just that I'm missing all those interesting drum parts we used to get. Hopefully there will be some of that on the 5 songs we haven't heard.
  4. I'm just concerned that Dom is falling into the Lars Ulrich area.. More businessman than caring about muscianship. I mean I listened to 'Hoodoo' last night and I'm still blown away by the drumming on the "come to be" section. 12 years on and still killer.
  5. Does anyone else feel that Dom has regressed a drummer in the last few years? It's almost as if they're using a drum machine half the time and Dom isn't bringing anything to the table. Remember how on "Screenager" he had the inspired idea to use bones, or his drum intro on "Map of the Problematique"? Where did it go?
  6. I'm talking about tracks that are not typical intro-verse-chorus-bridge-verse-chorus-outro structure. Meaning not pop structures, but more acylical type songs found in progressive rock. Also bonus points for extra arpeggios, classical piano bits and odd time signatures. A few off the top of my head: Spiral Static Space Dementia Citizen Erased Con-science Butterflies & Hurricanes Take a Bow Hoodoo Knights of Cydonia Glorious I Belong to You Exogenesis Symphony Animals The 2nd Law: Unsustainable The Globalist The Dark Side
  7. They're addicted to the adulation they get with those hand-clap songs. "Starlight", "Uprising", "Supermassive Black Hole", "Panic Station". I swear those songs will be played to the end of time before we'll ever hear the live debut of "Falling Away With You".
  8. I believe Matt believes he can appeal to the 'urban' demographic by dumbing down the songs even further. He's sadly mistaken. No British white band will ever appeal like that.
  9. Are you saying that nobody cared about the artwork on BH&R? I personally found it very engaging and part of the whole experience. To me the artwork on the BH&R singles gives an extra 'heft' to the songs that is missing in the TR/T2L era.
  10. SH feels like a heartfelt song. The other songs feel like the typical posturing.
