Hopix Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm listening to it now, there IS distortion and they do hit notes in a random order. There is a specific sequence of notes. Listen to the guitar based outro played after KoC. It's brilliant.
5clone Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Listen to the guitar based outro played after KoC. It's brilliant. I have it is good.
Melania13 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 i love it! it was my favorite of OoS before i realized that Megalomania was my soulmate:LOL: I actually adore the "space dementia in your eyes" but i always sing it "in my eyes" for some reason.... and i love the end.... i always listen for Matt's zipper (i think i heard it once and was like ) but its really hard for me to hear
TrebleRose689 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 LOVE this song! And I adore watching vids of them playing it live... Matt on piano = and i love the end.... i always listen for Matt's zipper (i think i heard it once and was like ) but its really hard for me to hear I struggle and struggle, but I still can't hear it! If anyone knows an exact minute-mark to listen for, I would be eternally grateful so I can stop myself straining to hear Maybe it would be easier with headphones?
Lick My Face Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm listening to it now, there IS distortion and they do hit notes in a random order. Wrong, it's a VERY-slow 6/8 rhythm. Cracking song. Love using it as a speed exercise.
hoosier_muser Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Super happy to see this thread! Space Dementia is my favorite Muse song. All of their songs evoke some kind of emotional response in me, but this song just...I don't really even have the words. This song sends me into sensory overload that lasts from start to finish. My favorite part of the entire song is towards the beginning when the music swells and Matt just cries out, H8 is the one for me... It may just be my favorite Muse moment ever.
Luigi. Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Muse needs to bring back the guitar outro of SD for the end of KOC live.
Enemy Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 the words. This song sends me into sensory overload that lasts from start to finish. My favorite part of the entire song is towards the beginning when the music swells and Matt just cries out, H8 is the one for me... It may just be my favorite Muse moment ever. God yes. The first time I heard it, I thought his voice was actually a train rushing toward me on some evil, rusty tracks. Awesome.
TrebleRose689 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 God yes. The first time I heard it, I thought his voice was actually a train rushing toward me on some evil, rusty tracks. Awesome. I think that's the best comparison I've ever heard! And a very accurate way to describe that moment
Luigi. Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIpuob-JO54&feature=related Epic song.
spark_ Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I think that's the best comparison I've ever heard! And a very accurate way to describe that moment Why did I never think of that before? That's brilliant.
Gemsy Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 God yes. The first time I heard it, I thought his voice was actually a train rushing toward me on some evil, rusty tracks. Awesome. Win. So much win. This has probably been my favourite Muse song over the years.
DwightKSchrute Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Oh yes, this song is a masterpiece. My favorite Muse song, definitely. I'd sell my soul to hear it live.
SpiralStatic1 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Oh yes, this song is a masterpiece. My favorite Muse song, definitely. I'd sell my soul to hear it live. Yes! This is exactly how I feel about this song. It's one if my first favorites.
kueller Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I want to hear it live just for the ending.
Peter. Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I want to hear it live just for the ending. ..?
Hat Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 ..? ?? He wants to hear the ending of the song. Possibly because he likes it.
Peter. Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 ?? He wants to hear the ending of the song. Possibly because he likes it. yeah, but he said it as if the rest of the song wasn't worth seeing/listening.
Jobby Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 yeah, but he said it as if the rest of the song wasn't worth seeing/listening. To be fair, the rest of the song isn't exactly amazing live. It's good but the ending's what really sells it imo.
FabriPav Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yeah of course the song without the ending wouldn't be that special.
Alec Ferris Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yeah of course the song without the ending wouldn't be that special. Agreed. Took me ages to get a handle on the song after I first heard it. Anyone else have that?
kueller Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 yeah, but he said it as if the rest of the song wasn't worth seeing/listening. I'd love the rest of the song (my favorite Muse piano song), but that new/studio outro is on a whole different level. Kinda related, I love in the studio version the piano during the crazy noise part is just slightly overdriven.
Peter. Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Took me ages to get a handle on the song after I first heard it. Anyone else have that? Don't know, it was instant love for me. Hammering piano you can headbang to? fuck yes. and yeah, the ending is definitely the highlight of the song, but hell, if I heard Matt playing the intro at a show I'm at, I'd faint.
