Dom-is-God
nah, his original recording kit was the white sparkle DW kit, (you can see it in loads of videos!) Then i guess he used the gold one for the homecoming and smaller gigs and now he'll be using this wallpaper kit for the upcoming tour! woohoo! Singing For Absolution
I preferred the crystal ice acrylic to the new DW kit Although, I did like his white sparkle recording kit, looked very nice, although if that's the same snare from Showbiz then god help us all >.>

failed_drummer
Personally I'm a Tama man, but my drum teacher said that they have really poor customer service over in England. All DW had to do was offer Dom a custom kit and he switched. Pity really. I loved the Mirage series.
Pistol Star
The reason Dom chose the DW kit was because he said it had a wider frequency range in the Modern Drummer interview.
Niles
I can't imagine why frequency range would matter when you process all the life out of your drum sounds anyway.
failed_drummer
There's not really any need to have a wide frequency range anyway as (apart from processing it) you tend to tune one kit to a certain sound and then maintain it, rather than changing it all the time, which would be a bit awkward in the middle of a gig...
