I can't imagine why frequency range would matter when you process all the life out of your drum sounds anyway.
-
Well root my boot that's one fugly drum kit. Peace. :s
-
Not the same kit but still the best band on earth. XUt-jrfLhnc

Meh it's alright. I opened this thread to post pics of my starclassics but I dont have any. It's pretty criminal: I bought the kit 3 days ago and I haven't had tme to play it yet. Won't even get to tonight cos I'm working late. Specs: Starclassic B/B in Dark Stardust Fade w chrome hardware and new Starcasts. 12x7 hanging tom 14x12 floor 16x14 floor 13x6 snare 22x18 virgin kick (really hard to get, they're either 22x20 and virgin or 22x18 with a mount, not both). The finish is stunning, so is the depth of the sound they produce. I've given them nothing but a quick 5 minute tune and they sound almost studio'd already (no doubt that's from the quality of construction, woods and the hoops). I finish early tomorrow so that should be the day.

Why would buy a drum kit formerly owned by anyone who treats his equpiment how Dom does? I'm quite certain that very drum kit got quite fucked up on the Hullabaloo DVD.

IYW/DS - blue sparkle OoS - silver sparkle Showbiz a shitload of kits (I added most of them to the drums page on muse wiki ages ago) Something like this is getting close:

Anyone identified the HAARP snare? I think it's a 14x6.5 Brady tasmanian blackwood block.

That's epic cool. Yeah, to expand on the Pro-Mark thing, having used pretty much every brand of stick there is, I have found Pro-Marks to be consistently the most durable, lightest, straightest, balanced and best sized sticks available. The last point is a taste issue but the rest are fact. Fact: Pro-Mark > other.
-
Am I the only one who wants to hear more about this?
-
Pro-Mark are clearly the best sticks. I don't know why other brands even exist. I want the TX3RW Peter Criss models.

Tbh that looks pretty failure to me. Firstly it's a Mirage (read hideously overpriced Gold N Times shells), secondly the colour combo makes baby jesus cry, lastly it's got a billion times more components than a proper drum kit should. If Portnoys drums hooked up with Barkers, that would be their lovechild (a troubling image, no?) Size 9 rprznt kekekekeke

Acrylic hoops?? Wow, I've never seen that before (I don't think it's a very good idea though). I doubt that Tama got their ideas on acrylic kits from those guys. All modern acrylics are the same (no joke, every shell, except Sonor X-Rays and those ones, is sourced from one of two major manufacturers), which are pretty much copies of the original Zickos shells, with some much needed structural improvements. Those are even better than Tamas and en par with Sonors.

I thin DW is a pretty cool guy. eh lets me use over 9000 memes and doesn't afraid of anything. IT'S OVER FIVE THOUSAAAAAAAND!! Not the same.
-
oh eye dunno I think Yamaha and Sonor make little jungle kits just for that purpose. EDIT: Yami does, this is the little whatsy Dom was playing on in that video where he was plying on the little whatsy http://www.massmusic.net/shop/?shop=1&cat=1597&cart=9999078 5000? I thought you had a DW OVER9000!
