Mistress
I posted this in the Muse art thread as it's sort of inspired by a couple of their tracks, but seen as though it isn't actually Muse I can post it here too

Tofu
That's awesome! I finished a painting and cleaned my room. Ooh, that's cool. I also love your room. Lol, my room "cleaned" is still way messier than that. Love the posters, too! I wish I was allowed to paint my walls a different color... I've lived with white walls since birth. Kayleigh
i haven't been here for a while and during the time i was off many awesome pics were posted (the drawings/painting by tofu are ALWAYS awesome! ). we had to do an art project in school, we had to choose any drawing we like and draw a copy and an interpretation of it so... here's the original (it's made with computer): here's the copy (made with pencil which wasn't eay at all ): and the interpretation: my computer crashed 5 times! i'm not lying, it took about an hour to write this!!! phew! however, i did my best drawing them...in our art lesson where everybody else just does his homework
glorious_miki
To be honest, I feel really flipping stupid uploading these to the board because everybody out there is so much better than me. BUT I was hoping to get some opinions.... and maybe some advice? Because one thing I really struggle with is shading. I don't know where or how to shade anything. Well, I hope you guys like them... and if you don't, please tell me why! And you don't have to be nice, just give me a couple tips on how to improve everything please. Well, I hope you guys like them... and if you don't, please tell me why! And you don't have to be nice, just give me a couple tips on how to improve everything please. Double post, but who cares To shade, in your minds' eye, put a light source on the page, and from there, imagine where the rays of light are radiating from your light source - is it a big source such as a window / the sun, or a small one such as a candle or light bulb? From there, imagine the shape of the place the light hits, if it is spherical then shade in a spherical motion around the area and darker behind where a shadow would be cast, or if an edge is straight there will be an even amount of light hitting the surface, with muscles, imagine the volume of light hitting directly from the source to the area on the drawing, and imagine what it would look like. Try to observe real light and real objects to get an eye for what to look for in your mind Remember if your drawing has a light source and a wall or floor, there will be shadows cast by the characters or objects you draw - the middle drawing has a good start to shading and where to sahde (under the belly, where least light would reach, etc), try to envision your light source and not shade in random places like I used to (doh!) Probably a load of bollocks but I managed to get some qualifications in teh Fine Arts :3 Hope it helps! <
