Clunge Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Aye, Muscle Museum would be a terrible opener imho . It's a great mid-set/encore song though.
Dina F.K.K. Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 i think the best songs as openers are those kind of "rock" or upbeat songs but not the hard ones, to pump the crowd's enthusiasm, hehe.
OpenMinded Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 mmm yeah the idea of MM as an opener is good, I don't know if it would work in practice.
Gareeh Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 showbiz should start no doubt< the build_up is just perfect imo, and still, it's not as epic as KoC or MK Ultra but Showbiz ends on a high note and I think they should fire straight into another song.

Chumbucket Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I'm seriously hoping they don't do uprising as the opener in the aus tour, they did it for BDO and should try something else. MK ultra is cool but it doesn't have the massive rush of energy at the start, builds up a bit steady. Bring on TSP haha..... I wish...
Llama of Time Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 amazing fucking intro + uprising will be the opening of the stadium tour 2010 ... cf reharsals @ MK it's like the haarp tour 2007... TAB is a better opener than KOC but with dance of the knights intro, KOC have to be the opener... even if MKU is an astonishing opener and "Opening with Knights is anti-climatical because nothing is epic enough to follow it"... This sounds logical. I could see them opening with MK for like festivals and stuff but intro+uprising being it for stadium shows.

MUSEirik Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I've been dreaming about this since I heard they were coming to Norway Hope it stays this way!
Gigapoodle Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I like it. Though I prefer Uprising because it just seems fitting in a way, MK sounds really good as an opener so far.
FearAndPanic Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Makes me think of their old nineties gigs with Sober as an opener, bit of a quirkier rock song.
Gretterati Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I don't think it's a strong enough song to open with, I don't think it would really get me in the mood either. I actually prefer Uprising.
xX_deadstar_Xx Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 suppose i'll be disagreeing with everyone here, but i dont like it as the opener and loved uprising. MKU is still a great song, and should be one of the regulars every night in my opinion, but i just think the synthy guitar intro doesnt match the impact of the bass riff to open uprising to start a gig, plus Uprising worked really well with We Are The Universe, which is my favourite intro theyve ever done Just my opinion anyway ...if it was up to me, they would open with Dead Star or Stockholm Syndrome lol

s3ker Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Yesterday it worked really well. The combination chris with pipe + fireworks + MK is really good Now seriously, to be honest I can't decide if I prefer MK or Uprising (TR tour) but it would be nice to keep it, it works well and it is different. It was pretty awesome and the riffs get the crowd ready for what's coming next, worked quite well actually.
Lih Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 It's great, especially for festivals, because it's high energy from the start - it doesn't take forever to get going like Uprising does.
WutDaFucksy Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I never saw what was so great about We Are The Universe + Uprising MK for me to open defo
FallAway Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I actually don't really like MK as an opener, I feel like WATU + Uprising was more powerful. I love the song, however! Fav opener is probably Knights though.
Luigi. Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Definitely keep it as an opener,Uprising was a bit slow for an opener and MK was more livelier when I saw it live.
futurellama Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Since they're obviously not going to do my dream encore of Overture > SS > TaB, then SS needs to open.
ninsp Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Don't know why but that last option makes me laugh hysterically... ...oh, and MK Ultra opener=epic win
crowbi_wan Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I LOVED it as the opener to the short set in Seattle '09 and am glad they're choosing to open with it now. More so, I just hope it remains in the set throughout the summer and when they return to the US in the fall.

Hope it stays in the setlist for the fall.
