Hat
This song has killed off all excitement I had for Drones. I knew I shouldn't have boarded this stupid hype train in the first place. Once again, this song is not representative of the album.
Bumpypotato
The worst thing about all this? I can hear Banter's smugness intensifying already. pfft, as if Banter matters.
Mango
I haven't posted on here in years...I'm normally into Muse's heavier stuff, but fuck I absolutely love this song! Very happy right now I really love it too!!
Bumpypotato
Madness builds up waaay better. But it's more boring in the first half. Simple, swap the first half of Dead Inside with the first half of Madness, and you have one good song, one absolutely atrocious one.
rickdiculous
I guess nobody cares about context. I like Dead Inside but I'll probably like it more once Drones is released. Sometimes listening to an album as a whole completely changes my view of a song. But I'm the kind of person who listens to a whole albums rather than having my music library on shuffle. alibros
Simple, swap the first half of Dead Inside with the first half of Madness, and you have one good song, one absolutely atrocious one. pretty much. I'd keep both solos though.
JessicaSarahS
Once again, this song is not representative of the album. VV Same regardless of whether the sound is representative, the songwriting doesn't indicate good things. This.
Jimmyneutron
Simple, swap the first half of Dead Inside with the first half of Madness, and you have one good song, one absolutely atrocious one. Can someone make a mashup? That would be great

-FutureStar-
Can somebody explain how this is bad songwriting? It's just an excuse for not wanting Muse to play anything other than rock.
Alec Ferris
Can somebody explain how this is bad songwriting? Because it flip-flops from attempts at darkness to florid bollocks with painful earnestness. It's like Brandon Flowers lyrics.

Hat
Tbh I don't think it matters what kind of lyrics Matt writes from here on out, everyone is still gonna take anything methaphorical, attempt at being clever or sign of emotional earnestness as "bad lyrics". Basically anything that stands out will immediately be considered bad.

topo_musero
Don't see why the 2nd half is bland. In fact, the "don't leave me out in the cold" part is strong, love Matt's singing and how the bass change. Subtle, but powerful
Priad-Luabe
Of course: It's just an excuse for not wanting Muse to play anything other than rock. seems that way... Because it flip-flops from attempts at darkness to florid bollocks with painful earnestness. Citizen_Eraser
Idk if anyones mentioned the scariest part of what we learned today. From the triple j interview: It leans more towards the heavy side but it goes back and forth, sort of a mixed bag really. That line...TR3 possibly confirmed (T2L was TR2).
