Rework the verses so they're not so incredibly fucking dull, and keep the rest of the live version bar a few vocal lines which didn't really fit. BAM, a good song. It's just fundamentally not a very good song if you ask me. Dull melody, dull bassline, appalling lyrics, etc. Mediocre b-side material at best. I mean there isn't a single thing about the instrumental that works. Dull drumming, dull bassline AND dull guitar riff. Wtf were they thinking releasing that? Love the vocals though.
