I like the track, especially the middle section with Matt's vocals (trademark Muse or not, it sounds great).

My problems (and I'm probably - ok, definitely, not probably - rehashing everything that's already been said) are that, 1), the ending, as well as being disappointing in itself, feels weirdly tacked on (after the reporter's voice it just randomly breaks back to the dubstep part, seems a bit clumsy to me), 2), the trailer's already been out for ages so that the first minute and a half (and last 30 seconds) have quite a bit of their interest for me, and 3), the track is just too short and sparse in this context. I wish I had only listened to the trailer once or twice now.

Also from memory there were some neurons at the part of the video; it will be interesting to see the live visuals, and how the human connection project links to the album concepts.

Was there ever a play-by-play description of the tracks on the album that described how Isolated System was going to be like? I think I vaguely recall Matt saying something that both of the two tracks were supposed to be dupstep influenced but I dunno if there was ever anything contending with that notion.

I think it was something softer with the reporter voice repeating until the end.

From here

13. The 2nd Law: Isolated System (4:59)

- Trumpets inflating like lifeboats and Exorcist piano pulses tinkling goodbye to the globe.

"It's the noise of humanity on a tiny planet in the middle of nothing," says Matt. "Hanging around space would be so peaceful and quiet and suddenly you come to this little blip that's f-----g chaos! I see it as drifting away from the planet and going into the peacefulness of what actually is gonna happen at the end of it all, which is nothingness."

- Begins quietly before adopting on a more sustained pace.

- Mostly keyboards.

- The song ends with a female voice in a loop.

I think it might start quite big and progressively soften.

Wonder why Muse did this blatantly knowing it was gonna be leaked.

So... what's with
WW91IHdvbid0IGZpbmQgdGhlIGRvbSBwb3JuIGhlcmUsIHNlcmlvdXNseQ==
at the bottom of the page? (visible if you highlight)

No idea, ask Kev, it was already there in the 404.shtml file when I edited it so I kept it in.
