Because Stephenie Meyer likes them, so she put them in their movie. Teens have now heard the soundtrack and like these songs they've put out.

That doesn't make their music appealing to just teens, a lot of you here like SMBH, IBTY and even NSC. You don't have to be teenagers either. Teens like it but so do older people.

This doesn't make sense anywhere but in my head. :noey:

I was just saying that teens must find some aspect of them appealing otherwise they wouldn't be nominated at all, nor would you be posting here ;)

But what a lot of people are implying is that the stuff they're coming out with is directly trying to be appealing to teens. From what I can tell, it's not. :erm:

EDIT: By directly appealing, I mean they're trying to appeal to that demographic.

yeah, I think I read your use of appealing wrong at first, it's the difference between being appealing to someone and appealing to someone.... ;)

btw appeal is one of those words that looks dumb if you use it too many times :shifty: Like memorial.... have you ever tried to say memorial a bunch of times in a row? It's really a dumb word.... memorialmemorialmemorial...

 Yeah, I probably should have clarified.

All words are dumb if you say them enough. :p

Most 'teens' are dipshits who will vote for the crappy bands. Or not...Either way:

 *dies of laughter*

Oh Twilight, what have you done with Muse? Go away Justin Bieber fans. Matt will wield his awesome Casinocaster and shoot lasers and shrooms to the audience with it, and the audience won't know what hit them. :awesome:

Well I'm certain the teens will likely vote Paramore. I think they're more popular among American teens than Muse. But still, the whole teen choice award thing is shit. Most teens have atrocious music tastes.

Fuck it.. I'm starting to sound like an old geezer...

Kids today  *shakes fist*

Paramore are DEFINITELY more popular considering the demographics of the teen choice awards. It's targeting the younger teens (which are attracted to poppier/brighter bands like Paramore) where as we older teens (the ones on the verge of breaking their 20's) are more sullen and like bands, like Muse, that are just as brooding as we are. :D So I have faith that Muse will lose. I don't think teens have a terrible taste in music, I just think as people get older they can no longer relate to the teen culture and just don't understand it. I listen to the same general stuff from when I was 13 (minus Good Charlotte and Simple Plan). Then again, I still haven't shook my teenie bopping years completely. Anyways, the point of this unnecessarily long comment? That I agree that Paramore are most likely to win. :)

All we were teenagers, I don't understand why so much hatred toward adolescents. When I was a teenager I listened to Guns N 'Roses and Nirvana, maybe there are teenagers that listen to Muse simply because he likes, not for Twilight.

My children (11, 8 and 5 years old) love Muse but they don't know Twilight.

I think people are very sterotypical about teens. Some of us like classical music and conspiracy theories, and would gladly listen to 'old' music for days. There is an elitist music genre, which is chart music, that a lot of teens follow. Muse sometimes skim this, because any single that makes radio 1 is popular for a week or so.

And not liking a band because they are commercial and popular is just as bad as hating a band because they are different. Who cares if some people only know Supermassive Black Hole? What matters is that we know how wacky Muse are, and we adore their gigs and creative work.
