HenryW7
Almost the whole Newton Abbot demo is very commercial, the only difference from Plug In Baby is that it sucks. And how is Showbiz NOT commercial? there are some commercial tracks on it but showbiz (the song), and Hate this and love you are certainly not commercial
Hat
there are some commercial tracks on it but showbiz (the song), and Hate this and love you are certainly not commercial My god, you STILL don't get it do you? Just because they have written some non-commercial songs doesn't make them a non-commercial band. Under the same period that they wrote Showbiz they also wrote Muscle Museum, and the rest of the album isn't very "Out there" or hard to get into, it's just not single material. They are still a commercial band, and has always been. BTW, you seem very uncertain of your opinions, wasn't PIB their first commercial song? I never said that the rest of showbiz was commercial, I just said that those two certanily weren't. I would say that the only commercial track on showbiz is unintended. The first commercial success was PiB. one commercial track on an album does not make a commercial band Hullaballoo and OoS are certainly not commercial either (with some exceptions)
NoSurprisesPlease
I think Showbiz is more commercial than Origin as an album, although I guess Origin's singles are both better and more commercial.

CarrieB
It was on a TV programme advert this evening and it took me a while to recognise it. It touched me instantly but I was like - oh it's Muse but it's not regular Muse. What the hell is it!? And then I realised it was NSC! Still love it. Raiko
people don't like Twilight because they blame them for the commercialisation of muse and their gigs.. no other reason (and I only argued with you cos I had just read your TSP qoute_ Don't take reply as an attack to you. It was more general. I just don't like it when people get upset over something so silly. As for TSP, i've really got it in for that song so fire away! Jamie_H
So, I just got around to listening to this song. First I YouTube'd it but couldn't make it through the video without raging, since it had all kinds of Twilight faggotry in it. I downloaded it, it's terrible. I mean shockingly bad. The lyrics are cheesier than a cheese factory which is undergoing a cheese-tastrophy and being showered with cheese. P.S. Twilight sucks. P.P.S. Stephanie Meyer is a complete hack and possibly one of the worst writers of this generation. P.P.P.S. Twilight is pretty much the most sexist story ever written. I feel bad for the majority of naive girls who feel it's a perfect commentary on love; read between the lines, it's demeaning your entire sex. Hopix
I couldn't even do that with their good songs. +
Killer Rabbit
I have to say, it's funny how people were calling this "the end credits song", but it was used halfway through the film in a pretty lol-tastic way. i haven't seen the movie yet' date=' but from what i've read they seem to have put the song at a really random place in it.[/quote'] Yeah. They use it during a graduation party scene. Totally out of place, and it was basically the second chorus. I lol'd when one of the characters said "I LOVE THIS SONG!". ndrianakijnes
If Muse wouldn't agree with twilight saga they woludn't be in every Twilight saga soundtrack...So I think they make a perfect combination...And there's nothing wrong about them being in twilight saga ...I mean they're Stephenie Meyer's inspiration . Disassociative
If the song was just a filler track on a new album or something, I could have tolerated it. But putting it in Eclipse just generates this... hatred for it.

Hat
Seriously? Well everyone has their own ways of doing things. Well, unless I just listen on spotify or something and only like 2-3 songs. If I buy an album and listen on my stereo I don't skip songs.

If I buy an album and listen on my stereo I don't skip songs. Fair point. It's just that so many of the albums from other bands I like have almost a full album of good stuff and then 3 or 4 filler songs that just suck. Muse only has 2 or 3 songs ALTOGETHER that I ever skip.

m0hawk
Coming from someone who loves the more "epic" side of Muse, I have to say that this is one of the best pop songs they've ever done. It's such a freaking happy song! The transitions from verse -> chorus are perfect (all 3 of them). The guitar "solo" is stupidly simple, but at least it fits. But here's the real kicker: I like the lyrics. They fit with the mood of the song. The only cringe-worthy part is the first 2 lines. The song is a real grower. Azulmono55
I assume it has been mentioned in here that Chris has essentially said that doing the Twilight soundtrack was selling their soul to get gigs in America Not that I don't like the track, it's happy and nice in the same way IBTY is, but... It's good to know.
