Hey all :)

We all know Matt is well known for singing in falsetto, but he has a lot of other tricks in his book too. Was just wondering what your preferred flavour of Bellamy is? Falsetto, belting, screaming or flageolot. See the poll for examples.

Flageolet*?

Screaming would be my answer, but I guess that I just like it because he rarely does it.

And by the way, are you really sure that it's flageolet? I'm not that sure.

EDIT2: I'm actually REALLY sure that it isn't flageolet(why the hell do I even call it that?)

He definitely uses a mixed flageolet in the high E-G range, it's not pure falsetto. Listen to Micro Cuts, in particular the live version on HAARP, you can hear it really well there. :)

I like how he sings Unnatural Selection, some parts of that are very impressive live, pretty stunning in fact. I suppose that's "belting" I'm not sure. Isn't belting meant to damage the voice though . But yes those very rich sounding notes, in SFA and IBTY too. I also like when he sings more softly and sensually in songs like Undisclosed Desires and Endlessly but there isn't a category for that I don't think. I like the wilder falsetto too but I think he has a lovely voice even without that.

I like when he belts it out. How can you resist lines such as:

"I WILL AVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENGEEE!"

"THEY'LL HIIIIIIIIIIDE EVERYWHERE!"

"United States, united STAAAAAAAAAAAAATES"

I like it high and whiny. Early Showbiz anyone?

Though I do like his screaming because it rarely happens, like in Falling Down, kinda? And his belting is :awesome:

'AND THEY'LL HIIIIIIIDE EEEEEVERYWHEEEEERE'

Strong and full :yesey:

Absolutely! :)

But that's difficult to pick one way to sing, I love the way he changes his voice, ton and that's what moves me so much while listening to him, he can twist easily from strong and full to light and extremely sensitive, the perfect mix! :)

I adore the Showbiz falsetto where he sings "Oooh....oooh". Not the scream at the end of the song, but the part accompanied by the guitar solo.
