Boombleeb
I don't know if I'm over thinking this or if it's just a coincidence, but in Knights of Cydonia at the verse the bass drums sound like horse galloping.

serpentsatellite
Was it the horse noises at the very beginning of the song that gave it away?

Jobby
I actually genuinely thought you were joking but if you weren't, yes, the beat itself is called a 'galloping triplet' tmk.

If you listen a couple more times paying a lot of attention you might even notice how the song evokes a 'western' kind of vibe!

TheHappySpaceman
There was one performance where I distinctly remember them ending this song with the outro of Space Dementia. I thought that was a nice touch and would love it if they brought it back as an outro.
forevermusic
MuseWiki listed once that there was a gig where they had a jam of Queen's I Want To Break Free as a KoC intro... any links?
TheHappySpaceman
MuseWiki listed once that there was a gig where they had a jam of Queen's I Want To Break Free as a KoC intro... any links? My favorite is still the Close Encounters riff. According to MuseWiki: The percussion bears similarity with I Want to Break Free, which they covered as an instrumental before Knights of Cydonia in Rolling Stone 2006. Unfortunately, I can't find anything on YouTube for it, so...
