kueller
If we're doing more movie OSTs I'd prefer he listen to Clint Mansell. But overall I liked his classical music influence more than the film score influence.
PlugInYorkie
Steve Jablonsky! His stuff for transformers is brilliant; it's a pity the movies don't reflect the musics brilliance...

WeirdF
Mansell's work on Requiem for a Dream was a masterpiece, but all of his other stuff I haven't really enjoyed anywhere near as much.

FabriPav
The Fountain is his best work. Requiem, Smokin' Aces, Moon, Black Swan and Last Night are all great too.

serpentsatellite
I would prefer the classical influences over OST, as well. I definitely felt like movie soundtracks had a lot of influence on the last few albums, and I'd like to see something less grandiose. Would take it over classic rock any day, though. kueller
Thing I don't like about film OSTs is that they're usually very tied to their respective movies and don't really hold as well on their own since they're mainly there for accompaniment of whatever emotion the film is already building. Mansell I find is pretty good at making pieces that could work on their own. Not bashing film scores here as I do enjoy listening to them. I remember Matt talking about that kind of influence on T2L and I found the orchestra work there to be blander than their previous work, even if it did sound "larger". I enjoy the scores Joe Trapanese did for The Raid and its sequel, but then I've watched those fights so many times that they play in my head whenever I hear the tracks. Maneachicken
Download? Album needs to be as heavy if not heavier then Origin, because unless they play a set largely consisting of their rockier back catalogue material the lads will stick out like a sore thumb. Madness and Panic Station will get rotated I rekon.
Clunge
Everything they've announced so far points towards a heavy album. The talk before entering the studio, the pics and comments from there, the kind of gigs they've announced and so on.
Moonlight__
Andy Copping (the man behind Download) said on twitter to someone that they will play a ''hard rock set'' because ''they wanna come back strong'' so whatever that means.
Witz
I still can't believe that they announced a plan before going in to the studio and so far everything points towards that they have actually stuck to it. I seriously can't wait for the next tour/album

Jemma
bloody hell, LP7, it doesn't feel like it's been that long since I was doing my GCSEs and waiting for the resistance to come out bless. What I've read on here so far does seem promising. Do we have an indication of when it will be released or is it just 'at some point next year'?
