No. Just wouldn't work for them, or for pretty much any other band. Matt's voice is totally unsuited for it.

I was thinking about an instrumental version of it live. No singing:p

After hearing Bellamy trying to sing French that would be interesting.

"New Tei gear sig og toe gar"

We cut

The look

Now it stings in

Blinding light

Now it melts

At last

And flow in

Daylight

Now drag and stretch oneself

And drag out the arm

Try to receive

And brake over falling places

Running blood in the veins

On the skin

All over

Hitch claws in

And scratch in

Now drag and stretch oneself

And drag out the arm

Try to receive

And brake over falling places

Raise by the abdomen

Spine

Running blood in the veins

Don't tell anyone

Don't tell anyone

Don't tell anyone

Don't tell anyone

Don't tell anyone

Don't tell anyone

Now drag and stretch oneself

And drag out the arm

Try to receive

And brake over falling places

Raise by the abdomen

Spine

Running blood in the veins

The only real point of a cover (to me, anyway) is for the band covering it to make it their own/bring something new to it (i.e. Sign O' The Times, HOTRS, Feeling Good etc). Muse covering Bohemian Rhapsody would be pretty pointless.

You can't bring something new to Bohemian Rhapsody? No-one told Weird Al Yankovic :p

Hearing the Arctic Monkeys do a Drake cover on Radio 1's Live Lounge this afternoon made me think - why haven't Muse ever done one of these covers of current songs from a shortlist? I think it'd be great to hear their take on some of the more popular electro-pop stuff that's big in the UK charts right now. :)

Do either them or the management think they're "above it" or something? Many very established artists do it - certainly the Arctic Monkeys outsell them album-wise, for a start. and are on their fifth album.
