What has been your worst MUSE live experience so far?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know what has been your worst MUSE live experience so far?

I don't mean this regarding setlist-disappointments etcetera, but mainly regarding the whole experience of going to a MUSE gig and being there.

I once missed a plane travelling for Muse because of some mysterious incident on the train bringing me to the airport, then had to wait half a day to get another plane. After a really turbulent flight I realised that I had not brought the address of my hotel :facepalm: so had a wee bit of trouble finding my accomodation. In the queue for the concert I learnt that there was no wardrobe, hooray for my winter clothes! Well, and then, first I got a Coke shower from the guy sitting behind me (who did not even apologise:mad:), and then some girls sitting next to me startet to chat and were giggling during the whole concert :mad:...

It was really hard not to be distracted from the music... but still an amazing night! Love MUSE, forget all the rest!!

What's your story?

I've seen them 5 times and the only one which I didn't enjoy that much was the gig at the 02 arena in November, mainly because I was up on the top tier and everyone sat down half way through Uprising and didn't stand up again until the end of the gig

That's rubbish. I went to a RHCP gig where everyone around me was sitting so I felt I had to too. Worst gig ever.

Had a few close shaves getting to Paris for the Casino de Paris gig. There were four of us in the car and it only struck us that France was an hour ahead on the drive from Dunkirk to Paris

So we went from thinking we had bags of time to collect our wristbands to panicking that we wouldn't make it in time. Traffic was appalling in central Paris and we kept getting lost trying to find the venue and then the hotel. We got to the venue in time but only just after parking in a dodgy and expensive garage up the street in a space barely big enough for a Mini.

Only gig I went to was the first night at the O2 which has gone down amongst one of Muse's worst ever shows on these boards.

But I liked the gig, I enjoyed 16 songs (I wish we'd had MK Ultra instead of Guiding Light and Cave instead of Feeling Good), the crowd where I was good and I had a fun time. It was a bitch getting back to home though after me and Dad took the wrong turn out of North Greenwich and ended up in some random corner of East London with me thinking we were bound to miss the last train out of Euston.

Still, there are probably worse experiences...

Marlay Park was dreadful for Promoter reasons and transport back, and it had quite possibly the worst support act i've ever seen.(Glasvegas) but gigwise was great and the queue was epic!

I haven't had a bad gig experience yet with Muse, but if Oxegen got the T in the park set with that rain, yeah it would rank up there!

A friend took me to the U2 show where they opened and his parents were driving, and they were so slow. I was afraid we were going to miss Muse. Show was supposed to start at 7 and we got there at like 7:10 because his dad had to find this specific parking spot (I didn't wanna get mad at his parents though because they were nice enough to take me, they ended up with an extra ticket that morning of). I forced my friend to run with me to the stadium which was blocks away. Luckily Muse started at like 7:30 so we didnt miss it but that scared the heck out of me.

That sounds stressful. I would have been ready to throttle the driver

The gig in Chicago in March this year. I was constantly being squeezed between two idiots who weren't even Muse fans on the barrier. One of the kept shouting abuse at my mother who was standing behind me. Then halfway through the gig, I thought my jacket had fallen onto the floor so in between songs, I tried to bend down to grab it. The two guys who had been trying to push me off the barrier were scoffing and complaining while I was doing that. I wish it wouldn't had been like that for my first Muse gig, but here's hoping the one I'm going to next month (on my birthday!) will be MUCH better.

You're a very nice person!

I went to Dallas to see Muse & U2 last year, I was with my cousin at the top of the stadium and no matter where you looked, they were sitting down not only during Muse's performance, but also when U2 took the stage..

It was weird, I honestly didn't understand their behaviour they seemed more interested in eating their snacks and drinking their beer... so no matter how embarrassing the whole situation was, I stood up, danced and bounced :D

I think a lot of people may have thought that I was really rude, but it's OK I enjoyed the gig more than all of them :party:

Worst experience has been with my only concert so far, lol. Vegas this past April. The concert itself was incredibly badass and loved every minute of it, except for some douchebag sitting behind us (a friend and I) that kept falling over to our seats during the last 4-5 songs and even spilled beer on us. Luckily, everyone was standing so he didnt land on top of us, but this guy was practically drunk out of his mind, even after only taking like 3 beers. -_- The friends he was with kept saying sorry for how he was acting, but it was pretty horrible. Especially during KoC, I couldn't enjoy the concert without worrying about him falling over again.

I do think this was meant to be more about the overall gig-going experience *other than Muse' performance/setlist* but hey, should know better than to expect people to a) read the OP and b) think that perhaps enough moaning about Muse gets done on these boards without dragging it into another thread...

*sigh*

Only been to 2 gigs, not had anything particularly shit happen yet, it pissed down and my jumper got tango spilled on it at Sheffield and Bern, well anything shite that happened there was down to the ridiculousness of travelling to another country for a gig and coming home the next day without bothering to book accommodation :chuckle: so I consider sleeping on the airport floor and the fact that folk in Zurich don't know how to queue for a taxi as 'idiot tax' :D

Oh you dont even know. I was like biting my nails and wanted to just yell at them every time we passed an empty parking lot.

I mean damn I would have given them the 10-20 dollars to park in any of the lots we passed in like the 15 minutes of searching for this one damn parking spot (because apparently it was free)
