Melania13 Posted June 17, 2010 Share Posted June 17, 2010 One of my favourite co-workers (who knows nothing about Muse, or music in general really) dropped by my desk today saying "this band I've heard you mentioning, they're in the newspaper". So she goes and shows me the article and sure enough it was that pap picture of Matt smoking in that cab with that certain celebrity. It's strange that my colleague now seems interested to talk about Muse after Matt has managed to make it onto the gossip pages. I think the only song she knows is SMBH as she saw that movie. Muse are definitely being exposed to a whole new audience, on top of the Twilighters what would you rather here when you say "I like Muse" "OMFG THAT TWILIGHT BAND!!?" or "OMFG THAT BAND WITH AJDIJ JIJIRIE"S NEW BOYFRIEND??!" That's a painful thing to answer, but I'd rather hear the first. I mean, at least they're associating the band with soundtracks, so it has something to do with music. And the Twilight soundtracks are definitely not awful. The celebrigossip shit is just the shallowest of associations possible as far as I'm concerned. Nothing personal against Kate Hudson. I keep avoiding every contact, because her vanity is a little over the top, she's convinced she's the biggest Muse fan ever. Fortunately I wasn't stuck with her the entire day, only the ride since she had a sitting ticket and I had GA. After the gig when I joined her on the bus, I said full of excitement: Me: "Guess who I met! :awesome:" Her: "Who?" Me: "Tom Kirk! :awesome:" *silence for a few seconds* Her: "Who? :wtf:" Me: "You.. don't know who Tom Kirk is? :eek:" Her: "No. :erm:" Me: ":facepalm:" Only a true Muse fan knows who the Kirky is!
