KirkBot
"Panic Station" has been nominated for the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Rock Song Source: http://muse.mu/news,2014-grammy-award-nomination_1601.htm
mattismymuse
They better have been nominated for something or those people don't know what great music is! That's why Matt likes the NME awards. Because Quote: : It's voted by the people.. not some panel of people who think there something that they're not". I agree with Matt! MuseMarc
haha look at the rest...... adele is nominated which is quite a shame because her technique in singing and her songs in writing do suck
That Little Animal
Up against Paul McCartney (With Nirvana), Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones. Rock music's really moving forward, isn't it...
serpentsatellite
With nominees like that, I assume this is one of those awards given away before the show...
Jujubean
Up against Paul McCartney (With Nirvana), Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones. Rock music's really moving forward, isn't it... Kind of noticed that too. Seems like fear-driven nominations. When are they going to stop nominating everything Neil Young puts out.
mskatie
Up against Paul McCartney (With Nirvana), Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones. Rock music's really moving forward, isn't it... McCartney/Nirvana are probably going to win. Grammy voters seem to love McCartney and Dave Grohl; the two of them together almost guarantees it. Especially since Springsteen isn't nominated as well. With nominees like that, I assume this is one of those awards given away before the show... I assumed this, too. A bit disappointing. It would have been entertaining to see a clip of Panic Station's video on national television.
serpentsatellite
I assumed this, too. A bit disappointing. It would have been entertaining to see a clip of Panic Station's video on national television. I would consider a clip of the glowing pink wang laser on the Grammy's to be a victory, even if the song doesn't win.

polythenelucy
I was thinking that Supremacy was more likely to get nominated. I'm just waiting to hear for the Grammys performance lineup which basically gives away everyone who's going to win.
muse samuse
So far Daft Punk, Imagine Dragons and P!nk and Nate Ruess from fun. have been announced as performers for the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday 26 January 2014. One day later some of the artists appearing at the ceremony will be taping a special on the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut performance on the Ed Sullivan Show on CBS. http://www.grammy.com/news/grammy-beatles-special-to-air-feb-9-2014 The record label reportedly submitted both Panic Station and Follow Me for the rank and file Recording Academy voters to consider. I agree the McCartney/Nirvana collaboration will probably win the Rock Song category while Led Zeppelin has a fair chance to win their first performance GRAMMY in either the Rock Album or Rock Performance categories. The album by Imagine Dragons was not eligible this year since it was released in the prior period. Surprisingly, Imagine Dragons along with Lorde were not nominated in the Best New Artist category and many were shocked that Justin Timberlake did not get any nominations in the three other General Field categories including Album of the Year. It should be noted that special committees choose the short list of nominees for the four General Field categories. Some pundits were expecting Fall Out Boy, Paramore and Thirty Seconds to Mars to get some nominations in the rock field but in the end mostly veterans (click link below) got nods plus Matt. http://www.grammy.com/news/exploring-the-rock-field-nominees-0 Edited December 25, 2013 by muse s'amuse
muse samuse
British artists Paul McCartney, Adele and Black Sabbath will likely win Grammys on Sunday January 26 while Muse, Coldplay, and the Rolling Stones are long shots. Imagine Dragons (who covered Led Zeppelin and Beatles songs in Las Vegas before making it big) are favoured to win Best Rock Performance with "Radioactive" over "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin. David Bowie is also in the running in the competitive Best Rock Album category along with QOTSA and KOL. Only one rock category Grammy will be awarded in the televised ceremony since performances are more important than the awarding of trophies. 56th Annual Grammy Awards performers include: Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Katy Perry, Madonna, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend, Keith Urban and Gary Clark, Jr., plus pairings of Jay Z and Beyonce who will open the show; Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons; Metallica and Lang Lang; P!nk and Nate Ruess; Robin Thicke with Chicago; Sara Bareilles with Carole King; Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton; Billie Joe Armstrong with Miranda Lambert; and Queens of the Stone with Nine Inch Nails, Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham who will close the show. Presenters include: Yoko Ono, Black Sabbath, Bruno Mars, Julia Roberts, and Jared Leto

muse samuse
They are (or at least Matt is), saw a pic by Ted Stryker at one of the Grammy's party with Matt Muse and "Panic Station" will get TV exposure at this year's GRAMMYS unlike last year when the Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song category winners were announced at the pre-telecast ceremony. The Black Keys swept the three rock field categories a year ago. The GRAMMY for Best Rock Song will be presented on the live telecast tonight along with nine other categories: 4 General, 3 Pop, 1 Country, and 1 Rap. maturefan
Well, at least Robin Thicke won sod all. He should have won an award for the worst video EVER! Actually, he should have won TWO awards for Worst Videos Ever as the one where the girls wear underwear is only marginally less awful than the ones where the girls are naked. 'You're a good girl?' Nah, don't think so.
