How will this Animato thing happen exactly? Jaicen will degoop and reverse engineer it and will post a schem somewhere here? Or he will go as far selling some clones or pcbs?

Depends. Once you figure out the schematics you can kinda do whatever you want.

The cure is usually to fix your technique ;)

You have to accept a large degree of compromise in your playing, even if it is polyphonic. Even though it's way more advanced than the old VG8, it still can't deal with sloppy technique.

There's nothing wrong with my technique :phu:

Is there anything in particular that I'm not doing correctly? My right hand is a bit sloppy sometimes, but usually not too bad

The VG-8 doesn't seem to do this at all, but I can't remember if that's polyphonic or not. (guessing not)

Probably clones and PCBs if we do it. I'm still not sure though; it's pretty expensive and we probably shouldn't mess with it

edit:

Jim! I almost forgot...

I saw ANOTHER explorer in a different NYC shop two days ago. I'm sure it was a 70's (maybe even a 1976) because of the wear and how the finish was darkened. Didn't get a picture though.

I instantly thought of you and that guy with the blue Manson.

Sweet! That reminds me, I really need to get mine worked on...

Who is blue Manson guy?

I really want to hear this through 8x10 speakers...

The Hysteria bit is just bass big muff on blend mode, and animato.

I think I prefer the hysteria part, but the previous clip sounded a little better to me overall.

I'll get a 4x10 most likely. I was considering the 2x10, but it's only $70 cheaper

So I've pretty much decided on surf green for the Elliott... :awesome:

Nice. looks good, but what's with that crack near the output jack? Did elliott man let that out of his factory that way? :noey:

I suggest you ask for a metal jack plate. It'll save you quite a bit of embarrassment when you're playing your surf tunes on stage and the jack loosens itself/breaks off completely

But then with the amount of delay pedals you have, no one would be able to tell the difference, so maybe just act like nothing happened.

Also, next time you see Shrew, ask him where my amp is. I think you'll see him again before I get my amp anyway :\

Well it will have happened, but it will happen many times and therefore sound cool.

Yeah. I imagine Jim has refined his sound a bit since that U2 cover I saw him play. Probably sounds a bit like this, but with more dotted eighths

Oh and Jim, what do you suggest I do at this point about the survival amp? I don't really want to start a thread on TGP talking about my experience... those adult male individuals are all too busy throwing around their phrase of the day, and won't be bothered to contribute to a 42 page thread

Alright fellow adult male individuals... Today's phrase is "buyer's market."

What does it mean? Just use it often and you'll sound smart.

This might be a bit much for you all to remember, so tomorrow it will just be one word: Viagra

Also, are you thinking of selling your jazzmaster for one of those Danocaster things? What is your obsession with guitars named after men?

I got bored of my pedal mess so decided to tackle a DIY pedal board. Pedal layout or even pedals on the board are not final (so much fuzz right now). Next I need to get a power supply for it, and make some custom cables so things can be properly reached. Might also install IN/OUT and possible SEND/RETURN (fx loop) jacks, so there is a simple place to plug in on the back of the board.

Write about the Kemper.

enit

Oh kempers <3

I kinda wanna avoid in general the whole analogue/digital stuff, even though there's a bunch of stuff on it, because it seems like everyone seems to be doing it. Wanna do something around live audio

Probably email Shrew again. I'm sure he's eager to provide you with a memorable transaction, but he's also busy playing on late night shows and away from the amp building table:

Also, yes, I sold my Jazzmaster and bought that '63 Princeton and a Dano-Jazz... I just like namesake guitars :pope:

What's the difference in spec besides the finish? Or did you also sell the real one so you could get the amp?

I sold it so I could pay for both. Specs on the Jazzmaster:

-Black offset alder body, non matching headstock

-Spitfire tortoise pickguard

-Bridge pickup in rhythm circuit

-Mastery bridge

-Light aging, medium C neck (9.5" radius and more moden frets - the key!)

Basically a vintage-style JM, but with some more modern features to improve it's playability and usefulness. After getting the Elliott, I hardly ever played my vintage JM. Now just the 4-month wait...

That's nice, but I'd say the only real advantage is the 9.5" radius. What pickups are in DAN?

Oh and also, what about servicing the amp? I don't know just how much money I'm pouring into mine, but I imagine a few hundred. Should be done soon

Hey Bs, blue Manson guy told me his DT works with his X-Y pad... It doesn't have CC0 does it? I told him it wouldn't do that momentary stuff, but he said it worked...

9.5" radius and Mastery, I think. Not sure what pickups he'll put in it yet - he likes to experiment with a few different sets before choosing a final spec.

Usually when I need service done on my amp, my friend and I just do it ourselves. Unless it's a big job we can't handle, then we figure something else out. But I don't end up spending a lot on service, even on my vintage amps :ninja:

Dan likes to experiment? Now I know why you did this. What if he puts a set of high output humbuckers in?

and really? Are you sure you know what you're doing? And don't answer with "yes"

the prices do vary though. The guy I send my amps to is probably on the more expensive side compared to others, but at this point I don't trust anyone else. Except that one guy who took eight months.

He's just finished up the Princeton anyway, but has two other amps of mine that need sorting, so I'm not sure when I'll get it back.
