TR Tour was a sleeping pill. The performances were solid, but stale and suffering from Matt's fear of losing his voice (dropped pretty much every song that had notes above G4 in chest voice), and of course the consistently mediocre setlists. At the time, their energy levels were surprisingly low as well, but that's something I've come to expect nowadays, so it doesn't look as bad in hindsight.

And he's so free in that range that he can easily make little melody changes and actually improve it in certain parts. Matt can't really do that because of how restricted he is.- 8,036 replies

Arpeggio* "An arpeggio is a group of notes which are played one after the other, added either going up or going down. Executing an arpeggio requires the player to play the sounds of a chord individually to differentiate the notes. The notes all belong to one chord. The chord may, for example, be a simple chord with the 1st, (major or minor) 3rd, and 5th notes of the scale in it (this is called a "tonic triad"). An arpeggio in the key of C major going up two octaves would be the notes (C, E, G, C, E, G, C)" Basically, looks like this http://www.coniferguitar.com/Scales_for_guitar/page9/page11/files/CMajor_arpeggio_6th_1.png and sounds like this: or this: or this; Basically every Muse song has arpeggios. EDIT: In Destroyas case, he has been to 4 gigs it seems. So his setlist begins with a song from gig 1, then one from gig 2, one from gig 3, one from gig 4, then he goes backwards. A song from gig 3, a song from gig 2, a song from gig 1, and then back up again.

And this is the problem with a club tour. People will always think it's unfair that they can't go, so Muse would have to end up touring for 5 years to please everyone. OR people could just understand the implications of a club tour, meaning not everyone is gonna be able to see them. You don't go from stadiums to clubs without leaving a few people out.

Can't really use that format since I've only been to two gigs but here is a playlist out of those two: 1. Overture 2. Uprising 3. MOTP 4. SMBH 5. Hysteria 6. New Born 7. USoE 8. Cave (piano) 9. Undisclosed Desires 10. Starlight 11. Plug In Baby 12. Time Is Running Out 13. Unnatural Selection 14. Stockholm Syndrome 15. Knights of Cydonia 16. Unintended 17. Bliss 18. Take A Bow (I was at one of the poor gigs that got Guiding Light instead of CE)

You know that none of that is particularly special, right? As a "pop/rock song by itself", whatever that means, I'd say it's terribly outdated.

Or the melody imo. I don't want to think "with or without you" after every "you can revooolt".

I was just coming to post this somewhere (Warning, loud) God I hope Matt gets back into the piano soon, for more than just the occasional cheesy ballad. Especially since he used to write a lot of the melodies for the rock songs on the piano, and the fact that he says he hasn't really paid attention to the piano in recent years leads me to believe that this is not the case anymore. Obviously just speculation but I do think it has affected their material.

Which rarities exactly? Sure there were previously rare songs that showed up at 50% of the gigs at most (Like AP and TaB), but most songs only made a handful of appearances.

You mean kinda like being aware that Muse can't cater solely to hardcore fans, but thinking that it shouldn't be that hard to put a few rarities into every set instead of doing them all in one gig unannounced?

Like someone said (probably Serpent?), it's funny that it's mainly the people who went to these gigs that are saying "why can't you just be happy with what you got?". #RarityPriviledge

Actually, if anyone should consider themselves lucky, It's Muse. We're the ones making them rich, while they entertain us mildly.

Yes we can deny it. We're not lucky to see a band do their job. Music is a business, and Muse are letting us PAY for a product. We're not lucky, we're consumers. Muse aren't choosing to play for us out of the goodness of their hearts. They're making a living. I do think it's silly to complain about Muse and keep going to see them live. But for me, I'm not gonna start paying money for what they're selling until they give me something I'm interested in. And I'm not saying Muse should give me what I want, btw.
