The problem here is basically that if Muse are gonna keep doing the special gigs thing, it can't be a gamble. You can't have the Paris show being just like the rest of the tour, only to do a special gig a week later. There are fans who travel a long way and pay a lot of money for a change to see a Muse show that is something special. So when you're a band who don't really surprise people very often, it should probably be expressed. Either you're a band who can make every show special or different, or you should make it clear when it happens, otherwise people will be disappointed.

How is it fair? It's good for us because the majority won't "ruin" it for us by picking the hits, but it is in no way fair simply because it's what we want.

Lol at this logic. Muse brought out a few rarities in the beginning of the US tour, and they didn't go over well at all, so they stopped. They thought it would be better in Europe, but it wasn't really, aside from a few exceptions, so they stopped that too. It's not like they could have known before they tried. You guys are literally bending over backwards to make your logic work. Now they wanted to try something differently, and you guys are making damn sure it won't happen again.

http://www.upsetmagazine.com/features/decade-black-holes-revelations-muse/ really good read imo. (Probably mostly because it mirrors the opinions of most of the board, but still)

I don't really have a problem with their song choices (although they totally chickened out on going back to rock as soon as they remembered that they've built an audience based on pop singles), but the number of playback tracks, and number of tracks overall is quite shit. But honestly, we can't realistically expect Muse to drop all their pop songs. They're not that kind of band. What we can hope for is a good mix of songs to please different people, and that's exactly what they're doing.

Not if you fill it with enough playback tracks

Just add any good song and it would be better. That's pretty redundant. When will this "Just add one/two songs..." stuff end? I think it's time we start judging the setlists for what is actually on them (if we're gonna judge song titles on a piece of paper at all, that is)

I love the 2006 version so much (despite the guitar tone). But maybe simply because Matt likes to mash all the keys on the piano during the solo.

Fair enough. I don't really care for it personally.

Not sure Morgan could handle the piano. Also not sure why Matt should be on guitar for that song. The previous setup worked just fine.

Well then it's based on nothing Not sure I've heard any mentions of Showbiz before this tour, unless it was before 2009.

About the BH&R thing, if it's based on that tweet from someone who met Muse, that was just a typo and meant to be B&H. And Showbiz could definitely be sung with the ending note lowered to F#5, or the whole song lowered half a step. The ending IS in the key of F#, so ending with that note would only make it sound more pleasant.

A philosophy which they ironically stray from even more this tour, with more playback than ever.

Panic Station isn't really a hit though so I doubt it would have made a difference.

Are we certain Morgan isn't playing bass? Also speedy, not very unpopular. If you look back a bit, you'll find that most people praised it.

Because he has a history of not being understood, not being able to articulate himself, and even to offend people whenever he brings up hot topics. He's not the smartest man when he's on stage in front of thousands of people, and he does best by sticking to the music.

Well Morgan is often seen singing even though nothing can be heard. Either they're pretending, or they are simply filling out the sound, which is pointless since the studio recording is already playing in this case. Meh.

Obviously not Dom singing in The Globalist, like some have said. It's literally the studio recording.
