if you're hungry for some gouda,

ive got a song that has enough to move ya

it speaks a language only mouses really understand

dedicated to his old flame,

is this the end of the riffage, now muse is lame?

now i've heard, please erase and don't repeat it again

abundance of cheese-filled emotion,

something about snowflakes in the ocean, ooooOOoooOOooooshunnnnnnnnnnnn

i laughed and was generally appalled,

at the silliness of it all,

this song's not that great,

it's called neutron star collision,

LOVE IS FOREVERRRR!!!!!

Gigapoodle, I just stuck that image there because there are already enough posters on right now. We don't need any newbs to sign up and kill us with their stupidity, do we?

I actually had a dream last night about NSC. Matt was playing the violin.

Gotcha.

So I will admit this song is a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy it, but it's full of cheese and bad song construction. I heard it on the radio during my drive home and I felt so embarrassed :$. I don't think I'd mind if this was a B-side. But as a leading single and all the airplay it's been getting (the station had played it once every hour since it was available), it's going to suck that this is the song that people here in the US will know Muse by. It's getting a lot of positive reaction too, so it'll be a staple on the station.

I get the feeling Matt wanted to take his diva crown back from Adam Lambert and created this song.

How'd you find that out?

I'm a dummy for not knowing this :$

go to songs and releases, find the thread, in the "posts" column, click on the number of posts of the thread, and it breaks it down into who has posted how much :awesome:

It really bothers me too, i don't begrudge the songs existance, but it is just not good enough for all the attention i know it's going to get just by virtue of being attached to the movie :noey:

Yeah and I was thinking about that, but I'm talking specifically post-Zeppelin, you know?

Like yeah there was the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, very important, but I'm referencing pop radio.

American rock and pop were nearly the same thing for a brief stretch of time in the 90s, and the both scenes have been colored by this union. All American indie bands will cite some seminal act in the 90s as their main influence, be it as blatant as Green Day or more insular like Pavement. Its all very very guitar driven. I don't know.

It's not something that I feel like I can argue. I'd have to get you to listen to the right bands and show you the differences.

I wouldn't try comparing radio in the USA to the UK, we have the BBC radio stations after all and they have to cater for EVERYONE and we had John Peel who played quite literally anything.
