L.
Supermassive Black Hole is no good live. I don't agree with that one... It's beefy live and I really enjoy it... I could do without UD or Starlight live tbh. I see this and raise you with MK ULTRA not being all that spectacular live. It has so much potential. Lately ive noticed it just sounds bland, and the absence of the guitar during the "they're breaking through" bits just take away from the song completely. Needs moar UMPH live please. There have been quite lacklustre performance live however MK Ultra as an opener at Casino de Paris was amazing! Not the best quality video but here you go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI-Chq_CkzI

I find it pretty bland live, on HAARP especially. I'm yet to find an interesting performance of it. Ditto with regard to UD and Starlight. The way Matt sung the second verse of UD at Glasto is really irritating, makes me want to punch something.
musedan
The live intro for undisclosed is better than the actual song and could have quite possibly been part of an overall better "pop" sounding song.

jack259
Plug In Baby would work better earlier in the set. UD is rubbish live. New Born is getting old. Starlight is also crap live. Time Is Running Out needs a rest.

Time Is Running Out needs a rest. I think Plug In Baby builds up momentum nicely as does TIRO. If you have Muscle Museum > TIRO > PIB > KoC to close the main set the momentum would be amazing. I think Muse need to drop new born and SS for a couple of months and re-learn how to make them sound amazing, and then bring them back as staples. Starlight and UD are studio songs, not live ones so agreed

Now if they could do that every time they play it, I may be won over. Plug In Baby would work better earlier in the set. UD is rubbish live. New Born is getting old. Starlight is also crap live. Time Is Running Out needs a rest. They should open with PiB. Yes. D: NOOOOO Agreed. I think TiRO is pretty effective towards the end of the set. I think Muse need to drop new born and SS for a couple of months and re-learn how to make them sound amazing, and then bring them back as staples. They do need a revamp, but no SS in the setlist would kill me!
rainingradioheads
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNPWSLfJ_Es listen to the whole thing, this is amazing... I always sort of liked SMBH live, but this is awesome. Plug In Baby would work better earlier in the set. UD is rubbish live. New Born is getting old. Starlight is also crap live. Time Is Running Out needs a rest. I personally like PiB towards the end. I'd have to go to a gig with it towards the beginning to properly decide though. Yes to the next three. I don't mind TiRO live. I like the sing-a-long, and Matt did the shuffle dance at our gig (dunno how consistent that's becoming though). There's probably better songs that could be in the setlist, but I don't mind it being there.

jack259
At a gig, take these out... Stockholm Syndrome New Born Time Is Running Out And put these in... Endlessly Sing For Absolution + any other song off of OoS/Abs Of course, for that to work, Starlight and UD would have to go, to keep the rawk flowing. MusePavilion
I personally think on a completely guilty pleasures level. Muse + Hayley Williams would be completely amazing.

Gabijota
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNPWSLfJ_Es listen to the whole thing, this is amazing... What an amazing performance! I've always thought that SMBH live is pretty great but I dislike how chorus of SMBH is performed live, somehow Chris' backing vocals work better in studio version I think

Raiko
I love Supermassive live. It's not quite the same as the studio recording, but equally as good. If only they'd stop trying to emulate the studio recordings of other songs.

Oh, God no, that would completely ruin the night for so many people, including me. I know a lot of people think 'the singles are getting old live', but Stockholm Syndrome, New Born and Time is Running Out are probably the three best singles that Muse play live
Riveon
Much though I'd love to see Endlessly and especially, Sing For Absolution, I'd much rather see Stockholm Syndrome and Newborn, overplayed or not. And why would you replaced them with those songs anyway? Throw in, say, Space Dementia, Microcuts and Dead Star to replace SS, NB and TIRO and then I'd be very happy. xbroken_ideals
I can't believe they played Cave the other night. I appreciate that they're playing songs from Showbiz, but why couldn't they have done something more people would have prefered, like Uno, or Muscle Museum? They re-worked it with piano last year, probably why they're happy to play it again. I hope they keep it on the setlists. If they played Uno I would be ecstatic. It's on the Sziget Festival Poll, along with SD and Spiral Static, but they'll probably just play Bliss or CE...(Which is still great obviously, but you know)
garseys
They said (during 2006) that there was only a handful of songs from showbiz they would be comfortable playing. (That Was Sunburn, Unintended, Showbiz) then. This tour we've gotten Sunburn, Cave and Unintended. Its funny because I dont look at any of those tracks as singles now. Edit:yes I know Showbiz isn't a single Edited July 19, 2010 by garseys
