Does anyone else find it odd the amount of people asking for codes and whatnot for the recent show announcements (like Chicago)? There's been how many weeks if not months now of buildup for this tour and if anyone was paying even a shred of attention so far they'd realize you have to be signed up only a few days in advance of the announcement to get a code. It's like if you had any interest at all in this tour, you would've signed up for an account back when the California shows got announced. Just makes me :shifty:

Matt also admitted they'll still be "experimenting" with stuff in Mexico. That'll probably be the first good info.

Inb4 soundchecks of Resistance and Madness, serious drones-and-pyrotechnics-related injuries to members of the dress rehearsal audience, the whole thing being shut down on heath and safety grounds and Muse having to bring out Charles at all their live shows instead to "compensate" for the lack of robots on display

I don't really know how much we'll see from the LA rehearsal tbf. I get the feeling they'll be really strict on cameras or recording devices and we'll only really know glimpses about it until it appears in Mexico City in a week's time.

Saying that, I do recall when they had a pre-NA tour rehearsal in San Diego for The 2nd Law arena tour, there was a fair bit of rehearsal video put on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7WKLbb5oU0

They had nothing to hide since that was like 5 months after Montpelier.

yeah, in fact what was the point of that so-called dress rehearsal?

btw, are we sure it really happened? it's not listed on musewiki, for instance

maybe it was just a private soundcheck/rehearsal, and some fans snuck in?

(ps: Montpellier was 3 months prior ;-))

Pretty sure it was another competition like this one iirc.

judging by the above video, that San Diego appearance was a cross between a private soundcheck/rehearsal and a public dress rehearsal.

still don't get its point, since the show had arleady been 3 months on the road.

anyone knows what was played and how long did they play? setlist.fm has only this: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/muse/2013/valley-view-casino-center-san-diego-ca-2bdb8c5a.html

if correct, that short setlist confirms that it was more of a soundcheck then a full dress rehearsal.

weird that it's not listed on musewiki, though

A dress rehearsal is when the full production is tested as if it were the real thing. Lighting, pyrotechnics, sound, stage. Everything is tested at once to make sure it will be perfect.

The video is certainly real, there have been other instances where select fans could watch the dress rehearsal. You can notice Matt even mentions they want to show the pyramid, as if it were something new, so we can guess this was before the first gigs in NA.

I don't know how much injury helium filled balloons could really do to anyone.

Does make me wonder, if people were assuming the NA dates were piecemeal because of health and safety concerns, what the real reason was.

Because, these don't sound like anything that would make or break a concert happening.

... still waiting for the tour Feeling Good gets dropped.

Wasn't it not played during the Absolution Tour?

So, assume the setlist is real...

It's just basically the same old set we've seen for months in the festivals, in Asia and S. America, with only Defector, Aftermath and Revolt added in; however, it's 20 songs and it's more than 16. YAY.

And there's already balloons for the second song. lol

By the way the set is quite disappointing. Same old songs they've played for years, and many potential songs which are coherent with the tour theme/album theme are absent, like, maybe, CoD, Showbiz, Assassin, etc.

I honestly didn't expect Eurasia or Feeling Good to return. Oh well, at least there is no Madness.

Infact, T2L gets completely shafted which I'm totally okay with. No Map though? Stockholm Syndrome? Maybe some Bliss or Butterflies thrown in there? C'monnnn!

Uns was on there.

The lack of SSwas a downer for me. I've only seen them 3 times, and already saw one where SS wasn't played. Always one I would never get tired of seeing, unlike Starlight, Resistance and SMBH.

Even non "rare" stuff like Map, Bliss, Butterflies have been pretty scarce in the US, tbh. I never go in expecting something like that, but I wish I could hope for a non-terrible piano section.
