Like Plugging Directly Into a Vintage Console

You'd be surprised how many legendary guitar tones were created just by plugging a guitar directly into a vintage mixing console. The JHS Colour Box gives you exactly what you need to re-create classic tones by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, and others. It's a 100% analog design that replicates the input of a vintage Neve console.

Can't believe you missed off Gilmour.

Yeah exactly that. At least that's the only reason I can think of why he would have 3?

And regarding Whammys, presume the 4 is just for standard weeoo whammy and the DT is perhaps for Unsustainable? It first appeared in his rack for T2L and all

Makes most sense for having 3.

Hadn't thought of Unsustainable. The DT might be used for Reapers (since there's one in the lyric video and studio photos) and it sounds better for the tapping + whammy bits compared to the 4, but that might just be because it's easier with the momentary switch.

But we do know nothing, it's probably mostly controlled by MIDI.

Fact of the day:

The intro of Turnin' on the Screw by QOTSA and a British ambulance siren go really well together

I wonder if an American siren would be any good. I tried to imagine it earlier (I admit I didn't see the word British in your post originally) and thought it could work.. but I'm probably wrong

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, the deals you can have from the various guitar center stores online... they're almost realistic.

Used stuff? I think their used prices can be pretty fair. but their pictures usually suck

yes and yes

I'll do that next time I'm in London. Normally I'd just edit something on my macbook pro but it's not the same as experiencing it in real life

Is it?

Yeah, though they could probably charge more if your name is Brian.

Also, it blows that every time I update mac OS that it downloads shit from iCloud that I don't want (mainly browser favorites from three years ago, which I no longer want)

And I have two more that need updating.

I know I can't even play the guitar right, but I massively want a bass + a Woolly Mammoth. Been trying to learn more of Chris' basslines and I want a bass so badly :$

Also, looks like there's a new design for the Vexter Fuzz Factory! I love this graphic :D If only I didn't buy an FFF

Endless pub food is kind of making up for it though :p

I KNOW MATE

Some of the places I discovered (on recommendation) in London last time were great. Great breakfast at The Breakfast Club (but you should go BEFORE breakfast, as it often gets really busy it seems) and also the best BBQ I've ever had at Bodean's (though Olly said he found something better, which I forgot the name of)

But most important... Nando's

Assuming you're going to Mansons (you are, aren't you?) there are some nice places around there too

You don't need a mammoth for that. Get a Voshkod and Animated :awesome:

Trying to learn the solos in Heartbreaker properly, but it doesn't seem right not playing it on a Les Paul. Not as bad as playing Paranoid Android on a MoC though :chuckle:

It's not too bad if you're familiar with other zeppelin songs. He basically throws all of his usual licks into one solo, or at least that's how I'd describe it.

easiest way to do it is to break it into little pieces - you'll notice that some of the solo is the same lick repeated four times or whatever, then he switches to something else. If that even makes sense :nerd:

And you did what?

That's a pretty good way of describing it. I learned the whole song years ago but never played some bits of the solos correctly, but after listening to zeppelin a lot the past few days I need to play it properly.

And yeah, I tried doing that with paranoid android once. Had to change the strings and clean the entire guitar afterwards

Speaking of Human Gear, is this legit? http://www.humangear.net/productdetails-en/category/human-gear-effects/article/human-gear-animato.html

The Mammoth looks like it can be fun, also Equipboard says that Chris has one

...

okay i'll go into a corner now :$

It's legit, but there's a boardie who cloned it damn well, so don't spend your money on the original.

This is the animated, voshkod and mammoth clone all together with a clean blend mixed in.
