I like the idea of a customised blinky-bleepy synth arrangement that swells and falls, before building to a big multi-tracked "DEAD INSIDE", and then the track begins.

Not quite as immediate as beginning with Psycho, mind.

Okay, that would be cool tbh.

Promotional mini gig. Without considering if a song is a single or not, just to show how good Muse are at playing music.

Maybe Reapers instead of Psycho, i don't know, both are stellar live. And maybe is too much piano for some, not for me, i'm a sucker of the piano.

Hoodoo won't be played again I'm sure.

Could be, I'd say the only particularly unrealistic thing about that set is having a piano section that's 3/4 songs long.

Interlude + Hysteria

Map Of The Problematique

Dead Inside

Supermassive Black Hole

Dead Star / Hyper Music / Micro Cuts

Realistic arena set assuming DI/Madness and Starlight/Mercy get grouped together as rotations as they should.

[Drill Instructor]

Psycho

The Handler

Map of the Problematique/Resistance

Dead Inside/Madness

Supermassive Black Hole/Panic Station

Bliss (extended)

Micro Cuts/Assassin (extended)

[Munich Jam]

Citizen Erased/Butterflies&Hurricanes

Apocalypse Please/United States of Eurasia

Time Is Running Out

JFK+Defector

Muscle Museum/Uno/Showbiz

New Born/Stockholm Syndrome/Dead Star/Futurism

MWaH+Knights of Cydonia

[Drones]

The Globalist

Revolt

Uprising

Mercy/Starlight

Reapers

I'd be completely fine with getting 19 songs as long as there are absolutely no cuts per show and The Globalist is a staple. There's enough rotation there to keep hardcore fans going multiple nights and there's enough to keep the casual fan interested, though I suspect they're trying to get a "core audience" again so that's why I grouped a lot of singles together.

This is pretty much perfect imo. I would love a rotation of AP, USoE, SFA and perhaps MM/Uno/Showbiz/Cave but yeah decent list

It'd be ridiculous to put Drones before The Globalist though, just play it as an outro in which the band goes off stage to swap and so they can come back with their usual Uprising encore.

yeah that's true, Drones after Globalist... maybe What's He Building before Globalist  just to freak the hell out of everyone

Keep thinking about it and this is what the Psycho Tour should've been (imo):

Psycho

Uno

Hyper Music / The Groove

Bliss

Supermassive Black Hole

Interlude + Hysteria / TIRO

Fury

Futurism

Dead Star / Micro Cuts

Citizen Erased

Animals

Knights Of Cydonia / Uprising

Assassin (Extended)

Reapers

Muscle Museum

Showbiz + Ashamed outro

Stockholm Syndrome + Yes Please riff + Agitated outro

17 songs, 2 new songs, only 3-4 hits/standard staples, the rest = old singles/classics (Uno, MM, Bliss, Hyper Music, Dead Star, etc.) and a couple of b-sides/rarities (Fury, Futurism, The Groove, Yes Please/Agitated).

15 songs was kinda weak for the price imo, and for 6/7 of those to be the same old hits at gigs made up of and aimed towards mostly hardcore fans seemed a bit redundant.

Even though Mayan/Webster got more songs, I feel that there wasn't enough rarities when you're doing a "show for the hardcore fans". At least, that's what an intimate venue implies. It sucks when Download, a festival where most people aren't even fans get more rare/obscure material than their own shows. The only reason that happened was because they had "something to prove".

These shows should have been equivalent to the Zepp at the very least. That being said, still amazing shows and based on T2L's tour, they're definitely heading in the right direction by compromising with the hardcore fans (even if it's only in certain geographical areas).

The variation between gigs was pretty good and some of the song choices were great (Uno, The Groove, Muscle Museum, Assassin). It's just that around 4 rarities per gig felt like a bit of a missed opportunity imo, especially when you're unnecessarily trotting out the same old 6/7 hits you see at every other gig.

Plus, £45 or whatever it was for 15 songs is pretty shitty. For comparison, I saw Garbage in the same venue a few years ago for around £35 and they played 21 songs. That's the band's bullshit 'smaller gigs = shorter sets' thing in action though, I guess.

But, yeah, they've definitely been going in the right direction over the last few years.

what is this?
