Citizen_Eraser
Thanks man this is epic. Also just a bit confused on the part you have for the higher notes...it looks like the same frets so its just the whammy setting is different?

Citizen_Eraser
Yep, to be precise So I just play the 0 8 5 7 3 5 0 riff on the A string and 9 and 12 at the end of each part and whammy will do the rest?

If you listen to the live version or just how it sounds when you play you'll get the timings
kueller
MIDI should be transferable through all programs.
Citizen_Eraser
MIDI should be transferable through all programs. Yeah I just realized that and am dl'ing cubase now. Idk why I didn't remember that lol. I'm no guitar noob but I'm nooby as fuck when it comes to midi stuff lol.
Citizen_Eraser
Messed around with cubase a bit last night but can't figure it out. If any windows user finds out how to use Doms file in a windows based program let me know.
kueller
What format was his file in?
Citizen_Eraser
What format was his file in? you can dl it in this thread but I'm thinking he didn't upload the right data. The folder he has labeled as midi whammy just has documentdata.file and displaystate.file And his other folder is all the logic stuff.

Citizen_Eraser
Ah thank you! Lookin forward to your cover video btw. Should be the first completely legit cover of this song that I can think of.
Dominic.
The only thing bugging me at the moment is that bit in the main part, like the first note, nilh never replies and I don't think the one James mentioned is quite right
james90
had a go at doing the verse. [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/crystallettuce/more-sloppy-midi[/soundcloud] trusted my ears on this one, but I think they lied. also, i played it by foot as you can tell. it's so simple but i kept getting distracted and the fuzz tone... don't ask
Dominic.
James what do you actually play, the 13 15 as it goes up then what note going back down?
james90
James what do you actually play, the 13 15 as it goes up then what note going back down? the 13 15 as it goes up and 14th fret D string when it goes down
Dominic.
Yeah does sound better than what I'm doing, isn't half awkward to play now though! practicepracticepractice
Citizen_Eraser
I got your midi regions going along side the audio track in cubase now but for some reason it doesn't time out or line up properly. Like when you got the down/up as the drop starts. those first few notes I line up to be timed perfectly and then the rest of that region is slower than the audio track. Its really weird and i can't think of why its like that.
Citizen_Eraser
Its fixable but I see a lot of splitting and moving and lining up in my future haha
Dominic.
Its fixable but I see a lot of splitting and moving and lining up in my future haha Don't really know why it's done that. I know in the file It's made of a bunch of midi regions some of which overlap and gaps where there's no guitar, dunno if that's the cause

I'm thinking the speed at which your program scrolls across an imported audio is faster than cubase. Like if can zoom in on the track only and keep the midi regions with the same timing itd be fine but I can't figure out how to do that.
Dominic.
If it helps the tempo should be 135bpm
Citizen_Eraser
That was it. Track tempo was set to 120. 135 lined up everything flawlessly. Sorry for being such a damn noob at this stuff Thanks.
Citizen_Eraser
So with these tracks running basically I just plug laptop into my whammy pedal with a midi cable and click play and as its scrolling what ever I play when it hits those automated pitch shifts it'll just do it. Nothing else I have to do but click play and play along with it right??

Pretty much, long as it's the right settings for your whammy, set the output of the MIDI track to go along whatever MIDI cable, plug in whammy and voila

And I have a 4. So how would I change the settings for each midi region if I have to?
