  1. Madness: Worth the wait for "I NEED YOUR LOOOVE" plus I don't mind Muse-step. Like it even though it's a slow love song. Dark Shines: The drums and bass are amazing. Is it what comes after it that people don't like? Unintended: Another slow, love song Muse have done that I actually like. Plus I kind of relate to the lyrics. Aftermath: The third, slow, love song Muse have done that I actually like, a great climax without going over board. Exo-Politics: It's fine, there's nothing wrong with it. The chorus is great. Explorers: Cheesy as fuck, but a guilty pleasure of mine. Undisclosed Desires: Slap bass, it's new, plus the lyrics are great. I also quite like dark R&B-style Muse.
  2. A bit of a review Part 1: 7/10 I like how it starts with Hawaii/ocean calm sort of music, with KoC style beats but it then kind of drags until the lyrics start. Part 2: 9/10: Hard solid metal, could probably have been made into a song of it's own to be honest. Could have been longer. Part 3: 8/10: I like Explorers and USoE so I actually like this part- it's so abrupt though Overall: 8/10: It's atmospheric but it's no Citizen Erased. It's true what they say about sequels never being as good as the original But yeah the changes are abrupt and the timings somewhat iffy, However the actual lyrics are okay (again not CE standard) and the instrument work/singing is phenomenal. With a few small tiny changes it would perfect, but I guess just plain great will do.
  3. I hope they come to Newcastle next year, might even venture to the hell hole that is Sunderland at the Stadium of Light just to see them for the first time. Sadly I don't have enough money or any arrangements for Download. Ah the joys of being a student Have they ever ventured this far North before? Might have been in Manchester but that's as far as they go from what I've seen.
  4. I'll keep it short and sweet. Dead Inside: 8/10: Nothing really to say except it's great. Drill Sergeant: 5/10 Pyscho: 7/10: Very repetitive, although the classic riff and Matt at 3:25 make the song for me. Mercy: 6/10: Awful chorus- I like the verses though. It is Starlight's angry cousin. Reapers: 10/10: So much stuff crammed into an amazing song- voices, AC/DC vibe etc. The Handler: 11/10: The best parts of Absolution in one song. Their best song... ever? JFK: 10/10 Defector: 8/10: Abysmal lyrics at times, but the guitar work and catchy Queen-style delivery is fantastic. Revolt: 6/10: Muse does pop and it isn't actually terrible. Aftermath: 8/10: I usually hate slow, long, love songs but Muse have pulled it out of the bag with this one. The Globalist: 8/10: I don't really know with this one. Drones: N/A: Is this even a song? I don't know if it's clever or just downright pretentious, or possibly both. Overall: 8/10: Shit lyrics, great flow. Chris is a god OoS> Absolution > Drones > BH&R > 2nd Law > Showbiz > The Resistance
  5. I would also need to come up with an excuse of being missing to my parents all of Saturday and part of Sunday too- not sure a birthday night out and staying at mate's house would be a good enough excuse Why do I leave things too late??? Would be nuts though, hmmm...
  6. Oh man I really want to go The problem is I don't have anyone to go with or any arrangements planned. Is it possible to buy a ticket while you there? I guess it would be too late to order them now,
  7. To be fair a lot of Muse songs are quite haunting when you think about what they are singing about e.g. Reapers, but also CE, Hoodoo etc. Also has anyone else noticed on the lyric video, the name of the drone (bottom right) is called He-3 Drone as in Helium-3. A bit more of a subtle way of putting it in then "Helium-3, our last hooope"
  8. Mad as a box of frogs. Only one band can go from Queen-style glam rock to dubstep, from space rock to classical symphonies, be audacious to put lyrics like "stretch it like a birth squeeze" in their song. talk about conspiracy theories, religion and capitalism all in the same song sometimes. It's Muse, because they are crazy, sometimes cheesy but always amazing
  9. They clearly haven't listened to the 2nd Law then Or any Muse song other than Starlight then. Also, these are probably the same people who listen to the charts everyday. Yeah sure everything in the top 40 is different
  10. Yeah I did. I need to go to bed. Shame about the that though, I love Royal Blood. So to see them and Muse would be amazing plus I would have had birthday money so I would have went Nevermind I guess I will have to wait until next year when they're touring in Britain.
  11. Anyone noticed on the lyric video how the drone is called "He-3" as in Helium-3. A nice, subtle touch compared to the ham-fisted "Helium-3 our last hooope" of Explorers.
  12. I think people are a bit too picky here, I like the riff even if it may have shortcomings. The Handler is one of the best songs Muse have ever made.
  13. How many times does Matt say "free", "Defector" and "SOCIETY"? I've kind of lost count. They lyrics are utter crap, but they are catchy and Defector will definitely be fun live in a Panic Station sort of way.
  14. The "Follow the yellow brick road" voices are quite creepy throughout and especially at the end. It's typical Muse to go from badass heavy rock shouting "Here come the drones" to the creepy static voices in under one minute, but that's why we love them
  15. Something along the lines of 1) Stockholm Syndrome... into 2) Psycho 3) Supermassive Black Hole 4) Map of the Problematique 5) Citizen Erased 6) The Globalist 7) Sunburn 8) New Born 9) Reapers 10) The Handler 11) MK Ultra 12) Assassin 13) Animals 14) Plug In Baby Encore 1) Uprising 2) Dead Star 3) Panic Station 4) Muscle Museum 5) Knights of Cydonia
  16. I think Defector is more of a grower then a shower if you know what I mean. Let's be honest, the lyrics this album have been awful at times, but the general medody etc. have been great. Having said that the Defector, while it may have Queen like vocals, it isn't too overpowering to the overall Muse-ness of the song.
  17. Must admit Download sounds pretty good, as much as I like the cheese of Explorers I adore the heavy tracks like The Handler, PiB, Dead Star etc. Really tempted to get a ticket now
  18. It was funny how it went from interesting stuff about them going to places to Matt's package

    Defector

I'm not sure Two listens in, not quite got me like Reapers and The Handler did but I think it's a grower.
  20. Okay I stand corrected, couldn't quite place it and Assassin (the edit anyway) is kind of similar
