  1. As The Resistance tour finally comes to a close, a very interesting dynamic is now really going to set in for us Muse fans. Muse has been around for a while now, and with their sudden explosion of popularity after Resisance (especially in the US), its believable to say they are now a world superpower. However, when their next album is released, a lot of die hards will have to come to grips with the fact that a lot of older songs will never be played. Think about it, most of us chek setlists religiously, I am sure weve all noticed how little Showbiz is played anymore. Now think about when ANOTHER album comes out. Its quite possible we wont hear any showbiz live for a very long time, unless they very rarely decide to pop out unintended or maybe cave. Unfortuantely the trend will ripple across with other albums Origin of Symmetry still has about 3 or 4 songs on a setlist, but i would expect to see that number decrease. I doubt Plug in Baby will ever go away, but Feeling Good has now been seen to dissappear in and out of setlists, and with the reemrgence of ruled by secrey and USoE, plus matt said their new album will be more classical and low key, its quite possible feeling good will feel like a thing of the past. Newborn probably wont be played as often (it was switched out several times on this tour), and bliss, as rare as it is, will become even more rare. Absolution will still have good recognition, Id imagine hysteria and time is running out will still be around, but even songs like stockholm syndrome may have trouble staying around consistently. butterflies and hurricanes will probably disappear for good. Blackholes and Revelations will still have many songs, as it is still much more recent. Knights of Cydonia, Starlight, and Supermassive Black Hole will probably be staples to the setlist. Map of the Problematique (and to a lesser extent take a bow) will probably start being snubbed out more as well. Resistance will obviously see the most holdover. Were likely to see all three of the singles plus USOE for a while (and though i cant figure out why, so will guiding light, but not unnatural selection or mk ultra.) that being said im still curious if theyll ever bust out all three exogenesis, something tells me they will ALLLL this being said (and of course just all my opinion, feel free to share), what do you think we can expect in future setlists after their next album? matts been quoted as saying he wants smaller venue type music and possibly more classical sound (which is why i feel songs like stockholm, newborn, and motp would be swapped out in favor of lighter choices). What can Muse fans expect? how rare will showbiz and origin become? for this muser, hopefully not TOO rare
  2. See this link here. This debate is what I am currently doing on YouTube. I (forgiveninasong on YouTube) don't think that there are ANY strings on Citizen Erased, mainly because of an interview that Dom did with Laut Magazine (here), in which he says that they tried using strings on OoS, but then didn't use any of them. Now, in the CD Inlay for OoS, it does mention strings, but I had previously thought that this only meant on 'Megalomania'. This dude on YouTube seems convinced that there are strings on CE, but I for the life of me cannot hear where. I've searched all over MuseWiki to see if I can have this answered, but no, I can't! As soon as this is answered, this could possibly be merged with the Citizen Erased thread, but I felt a new thread was required for QUICK ANSWER ENHANCEMENT!!!! Anyone shed light on this subject, that will no doubt bother me for years unless I have it answered RIGHT NOW!!! Thank you so much, Musefans! And honestly, I'm not as n00by as I sound in this post...honest :$ I just really really FAIL TO HEAR STRINGS!!
  3. Prepare to rage. Citizen Erased was played during this set and a signed guitar was given away https://www.facebook.com/Radio1045
  4. If you could choose one song from each of the first 4 albums, one from Hullabaloo, and one B-side for the Resistance-Tour-setlist, what songs would you choose? I would choose these: From Showbiz: Uno From Origin of Symmetry: Citizen erased From Absolution: Sing for absolution From Black Holes and Revelations: Hoodoo From Hullabaloo: Shrinking universe B-side: Eternally missed
  5. There may not be the greatest choice of guitar solo's in the Muse catalogue, but I'm sure everyone has a favourite. And I'm not talking about riffs. If this thread gets enough interest I'll add a poll Explain why and feel free to argu- *cough* debate My favourite is the Thoughts of a Dying Atheist solo. It's really the only solo that stands out for me and compared to this solo, all the others seem boring (as solo's, not as whole songs). I can't really see anyone hearing the Guiding Light solo and thinking "Wow! That's amazing! I'm gonna take up guitar just to learn that!". And besides that, this is the only solo I can think of that doesn't resemble what Matt sings (e.g. Invincible, Guiding Light), and basically just sounds brilliant. THERE IS NO SOLO IN KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA.
  6. Hey i was thinking that all us Aussies could collaborate and put together a setlist for the Muse guys when they play in December, and we could send it to the email that is in the contact section on the Muse site. Anyone up for it? Suggest the five songs you would most like them to play, and we shall go from there.
  7. Are there any Muse songs or parts of Muse songs that just leave you breathless? For me: In Butterflies and Hurricanes, when the piano Solo starts after the trill. Gives me shivers. In Redemption, after Matthew starts singing at 2:10. The Eura-sia! Chant in United States of Eurasia, and also the trills during Collateral Damage. And of course, the chorus in Mon Coeur S'ouvre A Ta Voix leading to the Ooooh! part.
  8. ok we love muse and their songs obviously, and most of us think all muse's works are pretty epic and real masterpiece, but which one is the best? i voted for cave, i really love that song and to me it's not just muse's best work, it's one of the best song ever! best intro & verses & chorus & outro ever, imo of course
