  1. Even the PIB and Bliss clips though šŸ˜• Granted, this is the first time Iā€™ve had an album Iā€™ve loved and listened to god knows how many times for years be remastered so maybe Iā€™m extra picky just ā€˜cos of what Iā€™m used to (and Origin was nigh perfect already imo). Idk, weā€™ll see V soon I guess. Iā€™m not gonna get to it until Iā€™ve spooled through the interview and all the goodies in the book but at least Iā€™ll have all weekend :ā€™)
  2. Hmmm, tbh listening to the previews so far Iā€™m kinda mixed on the new sound of the songs. Granted, theyā€™re only short YT videos and Iā€™ve not listened to them with anything decent so Iā€™m not judging heavily at all. Sounds a bit flat to me so far though, the guitars in particular sound a lot softer.
  3. Itā€™s finally streaming on New Yearā€™s Day at 1:30am on some German TV channel called 3sat šŸ˜ if ya wanna try and catch or be sensible and wait for the (hopefully) inevitable rip
  4. Nah, the opposite if anything - that theyā€™re done until the next album cycle, nice long break etc. Any crew/management I follow all seem to have started focusing on other things as well, which obvs goes along with that. In theory, they wouldnā€™t need much in the way of crew for a one gig special but Iā€™m v doubtful.
  5. If the NA demos are remastered, PIBā€™s gonna be immense A proper studio version of that alt Recess should be feckinā€™ mean as well
  6. Iā€™ve not stopped thinking about it šŸ˜‚ glad weā€™re so close now, a small tourā€™s out of the question Iā€™m p sure but a very tiny part of me hopes some mad, teeny one-off show is still plausible What are yā€™all looking forward to most? For me itā€™s stuff like Cave, Sunburn, MM and maybe Hate This where you can tell thereā€™s a lotta smothered details in the mix. Space Dementia could sound interesting as well, and Iā€™m excited to hear them talk in-depth about that time in the interview.
  7. Ah thatā€™s a bit of a shame, one of the best bits of Bliss live for me is being able to go mad and lose yourself with the people around you. Having Showbiz dangled in front of you would also not be the ideal way to experience it šŸ˜‚ (though Bliss is the better song imo) The falsetto is pretty pale in comparison to its younger days anyhow, I think Mattā€™s best just singing the last chorus normally nowadays.
  8. Everything youā€™d hoped? Criminal to wait 10 years for such a signature live song (rare as it is over yonder).
  9. Spiral Static (big time) and Unintended are new features in my list for this. SS is one of those that Iā€™ve just casually slept on for a decade before realise ā€œoh shit itā€™s actually maybe one of their best songsā€. Unintended also maybe gets written off a bit ā€˜cos itā€™s old and a really conventional ballad but the sentiment and vocals are gorgeous.
  10. Origin ā€”ā€”ā€” Drones Resistance ā€”ā€”ā€” Sim Theory Showbiz ā€”ā€”ā€” Black Holes ā€”ā€”ā€” The 2nd Law Absolution
  11. My thoughts since Knights finished on the 15th of September šŸ˜‚ Feel sadder about leaving this era than the others Iā€™ve been around for, ludicrously strict sets aside. I like that weā€™ve not had any real hints for their next direction yet though, would love it to stay that way right up until the first single.
  12. Lovely send off from Matt: ā€Performing on stage isnā€™t just being in the now, itā€™s also my childhood dream visualised into reality and my life flashing before my eyes in old age, all transcending time and converging into the present moment, to the most important thing, to connect with you, you wonderful people. Iā€™m so lucky to have shared so much with so many.ā€ ā¤ļø So thatā€™s it I guess...into the lonely void of silence while we wait for the next LP build up. Aside from that Global Citizen gig (which Iā€™ll try and get to), wonder if theyā€™ll maybe do stuff like Fuji Rock and Grass Is Greener to catch up with Japan and Australia as well.
  13. Had a feeling it might get developed into a full song for a while now, not sure why. Could just see Matt go from initially messing about with it to something clicking and him increasingly enjoying it, trying to get the band/fans involved etc. My only thing is itā€™s a bit Psycho/Uprising but hopefully theyā€™d try and do something different with it if they do flesh it out.
  14. Mentioned it a couple of times this year but this weekend has officially been the 10 year mark for me as a fan Feels strange, like itā€™s not a huge number but feels aaages ā€˜cos of how much has happened. I wonā€™t write some big soppy post but Iā€™m just really thankful I found this band during their pomp and the fanbase has been a joy to be part of. Finding them at 13 means they shaped a huge part of me growing up until now, genuinely canā€™t imagine how different Iā€™d be otherwise. Itā€™s given me most of my favourite memories - my first gig, favourite album in full, SBE, the Psycho Tour, semi meeting the band, album build-ups/leaks, the O2 Assassin saga, camping outside venues and meeting all the different fans with their own stories, setlists/picks/drumsticks - that I think about fondly almost daily So hopefully they keep going for a good while yet ā€˜cos if they can squeeze all that into 10 years, Iā€™m only excited for the next 10.
  15. Honestly god knows, itā€™s bizarre imo. I think Live At Rome sold pretty poorly, wonder if thatā€™s contributed to Matt thinking literally 11 people on planet earth buy DVDs. Tbf they did say they were gonna do it a fair while ago, sometime around when the gigs were announced iirc. Most places also donā€™t really give it a good enough reaction to warrant doing it regularly.
  16. The fact Mattā€™s suggested they resort to a gofundme for a Drones DVD kinda smells like theyā€™re done with that format to me. Also if they play Blockades at even one of these last 5 gigs, I will literally take it as a personal slight and offer Matt out.
  17. BITM would be a brill thread to follow More v strange fusion stuff. Take the ā€˜unafraid to be ridiculousā€™ mindset as usual but apply it to the nth degree to some more unconventional song structures and genre combinations.
  18. I think Dom said a little while ago they were already thinking about the next album, doubt weā€™ll see it ā€˜til 2021 like (šŸ’”). At this point, I honestly donā€™t know. Said in another thread that Iā€™d find it refreshing if Matt went back to the writing style/influences he used for Showbiz but thatā€™s just not gonna happen if weā€™re honest. We had a pretty focused rock album in Drones and pop/electronic experimentation on ST so theyā€™ve sort of covered their main bases well recently. They could do some more orchestral stuff but thatā€™s always been their least interesting element imo. If there was an area of their sound they could realistically explore more, Iā€™d be interested in them maybe delving into the prog a bit deeper.
  19. I think thatā€™s more the general consensus than controversial šŸ˜‚ I havenā€™t watched any fan vids tbf, saw enough actual gigs, but I kinda know what you mean. It wasnā€™t easy having a couple or few in a row that felt exactly the same. There were a few that stood out though, Manchester in particular. Matt seemed to be having a lot of fun there to me.
  20. Showbiz, as an album/era ā¤ļø I donā€™t dig any of this ā€œthey sound young/naive/still developingā€ blah blah. Itā€™s fucking incredible. Read through a list of songs from that era and itā€™s literally hit after hit, maybe 2 or 3 rusty tunes in the whole bunch. An indie garage/rock and blues/jazz mix fuelled by raw emotion. 3rd best album. Dying to hear it remastered. Sorta think itā€™d be really refreshing if Matt attempted that style of writing again for a record - less hook/riff based with big themes, more focused on feeling and jazz/blues influences. Go back to ripping off Jeff Buckley basically, itā€™s been long enough, I promise no oneā€™ll mind.
  21. Something Iā€™ve dreamed of for yeeears. Partly just because I love that name for some reason but itā€™s also the perfect middle ground of ā€˜common knowledge but probs not for casual listenersā€™ to suit a secret gig/tour pseudonym. Iā€™d almost love it more if they didnā€™t even announce it, just start seeing the name pop up on club events schedules and maybe make a social media account for hints. Weā€™d all have to search early venues from their career to piece together a tour... But none of itā€™s happening so letā€™s all break it off now while our hearts donā€™t mind too much šŸ™ƒ
  22. Theyā€™ve not been to Japan either tbf šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Could do Trnsmt I guess. Festivals before gearing up for a new album arenā€™t unheard of. Or itā€™s the last time Muse will perform for a while... ...but Rocket Baby Dolls are just about to start rehearsing
  23. Canā€™t remember the exact quote now but it was something like ā€œitā€™s good to be back home, itā€™s gonna be our last time here for quite a whileā€. Personally got the impression itā€™s the ā€˜end of an era, time to work on a new albumā€™ kind of ā€œquite a whileā€. Boring Roadie also tweeted not long ago about having nowt on next year. Could do some sparing festivals or dates for places they missed but I think thatā€™s what weā€™re looking at šŸ’” they havenā€™t really stopped since early 2015 though tbf to them

    Birmingham Arena gig

Apparently they were handing out a lot of London night 2 sets at Birmingham for some reason, guessing thatā€™s where the confusion of TV being on some came from. Iā€™m just relieved as anything they didnā€™t play Blockades šŸ˜‚
