  1. I knowww and I’d get people who couldn’t go at the time or weren’t fans would wanna see it but it’d just seem kinda...trapped in the past. Like, they did an Origin anniversary in pretty much the best way possible, let’s all just move on. I agree though tbh, I got the impression he was referring to OOM, most seem to assume it’s Origin because of the interviewer’s question and the article’s headline. Now thaaat would be what they call a different kettle of fish, mon ami. But y’know what? Honestly, hype aside (and I am bad for it), I don’t think either’ll happen. They’ll be in the middle of making a new album and, if it gets rearranged, they’ll have this other ‘secret’ show that could potentially involve a lot of rehearsing/arrangement if my theory is correct. Matt just saying he “wouldn’t be against it” is pretty inconsequential to say the least. Also big nah to an Abso anniversary, fight me. My opinion of the album aside, catastrophic flow alone would kill so much of the novelty.
  2. Just gonna leave this here... ”I would like to do a concert with an orchestra in somewhere like the Albert Hall. I think it would be unfair to ask all the musicians to come at such short notice for April, but it's something I would like to work towards in the future.” Matt, 2008 Literally just worked with the BBC Orchestra on Tomorrow’s World. No album to promo. Unusually long planning time for them (first mentioned in Jan for not until the very end of the year). Seems like more than just Muse involved if Matt’s not allowed to talk and unsure whether it will be rearranged.
  3. Am I being a twat by saying but we’ve already had it If he means OOM then big YES but ehhh. Leave the R+L shows as is for just Origin, I’d rather see other albums get their first anniversary gig first. (blackholesblackholesblackholesblackholes)
  4. Ah was that yesterday? I’ve not slept for 2 days so maybe it’s all blurred into for me 😅 so hopefully details will come out v soon then? I think you need a paid Apple account to watch unfortunately, which I don’t
  5. Yep, that’s the interview this news is from. Think it’s a separate interview with NME, they don’t cite Zane at all. Don’t think the Zane Lowe interview is fully out yet(?). I’ve seen the clips most people have but I think we’re supposed to be getting a full hour at some point. Hopefully some more juicy stuff comes from that!
  6. News, nEWS, NEWSS (and I know it isn’t strictly about the album but fuck it) 1 - no outright solo record or plans for Matt, but may do more stripped back, ethereal/dreamy stuff (doesn’t like ‘inflicting’ that on Dom/Chris which I kinda suspected tbf). Yes purlease 1.5 - talks about wanting to go back to their roots (again) for LP9, ‘totally resetting’ and ‘going back to square one’, even suggests moving back to Teignmouth. Potentially very exciting if he means something closer to Showbiz and pre-Showbiz rather than Drones 2 - unsure about live shows in 2021 but, if things seem back to normal, they’d be open to doing a show celebrating either OOM or just Origin (just Origin would be weird when they’ve already done that imo, but FUCK for the former) 3 - the Global Citizen gig was supposed to be in Berlin BUT....BUTBUTBUT 4 - this FUCKER has once again hinted at that secret ‘something at the Albert Hall’ by saying it’s something he’s not supposed to talk about. WHAT IS ITTTTTTT. Worth pointing out that he says both shows will still happen if they’re reorganised for next year, but that would seem to suggest that this Albert Hall show isn’t entirely in their hands?
  7. TR - T2L was a rough patch but I think the last 2 albums have picked up a promising rhythm again. The Handler, Break It To Me and The Void could stand shoulder-to-shoulder amongst the top tracks from their best records imo. I’d say Algorithm too if it didn’t lean into the 80s retro gimmick just a smidge enough to feel distracting. Then surrounding those has been a bunch of very solid tracks like TC, Revolt, Defector, Propaganda, Dark Side and Reapers. For me, they’re honestly not that far away from hitting a BH&R-level album on that trend, and that’s high praise from me. Dgmw, I don’t think they’ll do it ‘cos that was a real lightning in a bottle period for them creatively that’s so hard to capture twice but I’m okay with that. If they can keep putting out albums in and around the level juuuust below that, I’m more than happy. Definitely excited to see what a slightly longer break away could potentially result in.
  8. We’ll keep bringing it up until Matt finally lets that redheaded stepchild come home (also I can’t remember the second) See, maybe I’m shallow but I never even really saw Pray as a proper ‘song’. Maybe ‘cos my main experience with it was seeing it as a live interlude but it strikes me more as something that’d be used as a backing to something visual or as a bridge between two more significant pieces. Basically, not something that stands out on its own two feet.
  9. I mean there’s not a lot in it, Drones is very good. But ST is *chef kiss*
  10. GUYS that interview has something way more important than the ST film HE NAMEDROPPED >>>>INVINCIBLE<<<< He does remember 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 It’s coming back
  11. Soaked was one of the first songs that came to me as well ❤️ probs that and RBS Ooh, interesting, didn’t know they were going for something like that. I know they did film something just before the gig and Hans said it was for the film but I figured it’d just be the main menu or something :’) Welllll colour me excited. Love that they’re trying something so ambitious with it. Seems like something that would’ve made more sense for Drones, though granted ST is a better album.
  12. I think it being so short and simple is obvs a product of the ultra quick turnaround but it ends up being a nice change of pace imo. Not everything needs to have diverging sections or big blowouts. The parts where the melody lingers on one note at the end of each verse, the dissonance, the falsetto in the bridge...it’s so delicate and haunting. Really feels like something he would’ve put out on Abso or something.
  13. Just heard it, it’s brill?? Surprised people are saying they were underwhelmed. Edit: guys, honestly wow. Matt, please do a solo record at some point I will be there xx
  14. Haven’t listened to it yet but felt this vibe coming REAL quick the minute I read “your hands can heal her / your lips taste her beauty” 😖😖😖 BUT I will say I’m still approaching this with it being just a quickly put together thing he’s trying out firmly in mind. Not gonna judge it super heavily so I don’t expect to be disappointed.
  15. I mean...what’s left? At this point, my approach is honestly just to go in with a totally open mind and no expectations. They’re proven me wrong too many times. If there’s anything left that I’ve been itching for, it’d be some weirder, experimental, not worried about sales or appeal but more restrained. I’m doubtful of that though, ‘cos they pretty much just did that with ST, only going for the typical bombast instead of restraint.
  16. He’s also set up a personal artist‘s YT channel and website with streaming links... Solo endeavours on the horizon?
  17. Guess the war’s back on after all these years
  18. I’ll be honest I’m kinda in the middle based off that clip. Just sounds like another cinematic Matt piano piece post-2009. Could be good, just not much to go off. Working with the BBC orchestra is interesting...fuelling one of my conspiracy theories that the Albert Hall gig at the end of the year might’ve finally been a Muse orchestra show irrelevant now mind...
  19. I liked reading about his setup more in depth and from the man himself as well but I’m not gonna lie, the part about needing a different distorted tone every couple of songs because people’ll get desensitised otherwise caused me to raise an eyebrow to say the least :’) Nah, the more I think about it, I really think that’s a no go. At best, that might be when we get the first song. The time between when they first get together for an album and the final release is usually around a year or even just over, so even if they started as early as January, I couldn’t see them getting it out that quickly. Spring 2022 is my new bet, maybe early summer depending on when they start.
  20. Yeah, I’m 90% sure that and RAH aren’t gonna happen now 😞 by the sounds of it, it’ll be 2021 before mass gatherings are allowed again
  21. Don’t worry, I’ve been mastered the art of being an utter saddo and basically living my life around Muse for 11 years now 😅 What I find interesting though is that I feel like this is the first time they’ve left an album era without having any kind of definite avenue to follow for the next one. That, plus the shorter tour for ST and longer break for LP9, kinda makes me wonder if they’re coming to a point where they might take a real hiatus for a time after this one...
  22. (minor) INFO DROP Not working on the new album until 2021 apparently, so looks like my ‘late 2021’ release guess might even have been a bit optimistic. Matt’s gonna be spending most of this year working on Manson stuff and presumably with his new kiddo. Sound-wise, still not much but a potentially exciting little nugget is that he’s looking to explore with new guitar sounds and tech as a direction. So maybe moving back to a more guitar-based album as he suggested sometime before and like with Drones, though whether that means outright rock or not is still up in the air. In particular, he pointed out making a guitar with an onboard Whammy for weird pitch shifting effects, and y’all know I’m a sucker for that shit. Personally, I’d love it to be more in the vein of Map.
  23. It’s never been played on Taratata though :’) just a few times in Japan and on a BBC TV show called Re:Covered back in 2002
  24. You can, in this case it just makes you look an absolute whopper. I’m genuinely not irate, though I get it does read a bit long/ranty. It’s a flaw of mine to feel the need to spell out the obvious as clearly as I can, sometimes it can get a bit long-winded.
