    Diezel vh4 Pedal

Seems they're making a two-channel version too, though as far as I can see it's not actually available yet, despite what's said in the video. I have an awesome overdrive and distortion sound already, so I'm mainly just interested in potentially having a bit more versatility than anything, in which case a two-channel version of the pedal would definitely have me more interested. I'll have to keep an eye out for news on that if it's not around yet, though I still wouldn't mind seeing a few more examples of exactly what it can do, apart from the usual metal stuff that everyone seems to play in all the other demo videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY2-k3efkGQ

    Diezel vh4 Pedal

Hadn't heard of this new pedal before, but I know the amp's obviously been a pretty big part of Matt's live set-up for years now. Out of curiosity though, I kind of feel like I'm missing something with this. Maybe it's because all the reviews and demos are full of people playing metal, which I know is this amp's/pedal's 'thing' if you like, but doesn't really do anything for me. At the same time, I then think of some of the Muse performances over the years that have sounded superb, though it seems to change from tour to tour, and I wonder how much of that kind of thing is coming from the Diezel with different settings. Anyone got any samples that are a bit more along those lines? Just want to get an idea of whether it's worth considering for the lower price.

    DIG DOWN

It still sounds thoroughly boring to me. It's just so bland. Unfortunately the live video seems to emphasise it too, rather than compensate for it somewhat with a bit of energy on stage or something. I'm really lost for words, and not in a good way. I never thought I'd ever find a live Muse video boring...
  4. Debatable. The 'Songs & Releases' forum tagline says 'Discuss Muse's creative output'. I'm not sure Dig Down counts.
  5. I turned TR into a 9-track album on my computer without those two songs and found it considerably improved things. UD isn't that bad but it's just really out of place and not what I'd listen to Muse for personally. I can't stand IBTY though.
  6. The background piano in the chorus of Stockholm Syndrome has always been one of my favourite bits too.
  7. I guess it was just an easy comparison for 'over-the-top' harmonies which is what I was getting at, haha! I love vocal harmonies but I like them to be a bit more subtle. I did say Queen-ish, but yeah, I know what you're getting at, haha! USOE is actually quite nice but I do find the ending vocals a bit off-putting. The problem with Dig Down is that it feels like mediocre chart-filler at best, and is almost ironically uninspiring. I think the reaction here has basically been about how generic mediocrity is not what a band like Muse should be aiming for.
  8. I didn't like them at first, but I do think it's one of their better uses of that kind of thing, and much better than something like USOE or Dig Down. It would obviously be better if they didn't keep trying to do it again though.
  9. I remember being really excited to play it on guitar until I realised how boring the rest of it is, haha! Still good enough to listen to though, and probably their best use of Queen-ish vocal harmonies since Butterflies And Hurricanes.
  10. I remember when I told someone there was no chance in hell they were going to play it at the last Wembley show. What a great time to be wrong, haha! Shame my brain had already melted from Bliss and Citizen Erased so I don't remember it that much, haha!
  11. I've really neglected MK Ultra over the last few years but over the last couple of days I've really re-discovered its brilliance. Started playing it after falling in love with The Handler again, and it just reminded me what a good song it is. Also Showbiz and City Of Delusion, which I also hadn't listened to for a while and kind of forgot just how good they are.
  12. I find that The Resistance becomes a much better album if I pretend Undisclosed Desires and (particularly) I Belong To You don't exist to be honest, but to each their own of course. They make that album a bit too disjointed for me though.
  13. Shhh, Wembley 2010 is Coming Soon, damn it!
  14. My 'How Awesome Can I Make A 15 Song Setlist?' Setlist... Take A Bow Reapers Bliss Showbiz Dead Star The Handler Futurism Fury Animals M.K. Ultra Liquid State Citizen Erased Ruled By Secrecy Butterflies And Hurricanes Stockholm Syndrome
  15. That looks awesome, musecasters. Really nice concept. The ali one? I have some pictures if that's what you mean?
  16. You'd be able to play The Small Print properly too, I suppose. Edit - Oh, James, they found the house, haha! I'll try it at the weekend.
  17. The HD version at least sounds much better to me if you're interested in that kind of thing...
  18. Oh right, haha! No worries, that genuinely happens sometimes here and we have to walk out to the nearest main road to meet the delivery guy, haha! You've seriously got me paranoid about forgetting to tell Mansons to put my phone number here on the packaging when they send the new custom over though, haha! I'm bound to forget because I just don't think about it, as is the case here, haha! If it's made it to Thailand though then at least it should find it's way at some point.
  19. Wait, are you serious? I haven't checked the tracking - that sometimes happens but they tend to phone you up and ask for directions. Except I guess our phone number wasn't on the packaging or anything this time. Did they contact you or anything? If there's a contact number and tracking number and stuff, we should be able to contact them here and sort it out? Edit - Can't find anything with the tracking number you gave me unless you can tell me how you sent it, who with, etc - if they contacted you and you can let me know the details, I'll try and get it sorted out.
  20. Afraid not. Will keep an eye out though. I'm guessing this isn't a popular opinion, but I'd genuinely say that T2L is their best album since BHAR by quite a long way. Drones has its moments but it's not consistent enough and the lyrics are a bit too unsubtle for me to enjoy it that much.
  21. Can't get the link to work at the moment, but that does sound pretty interesting - I'm pleased they're doing something a bit different with the writing and recording process and so on. Intrigued to see what the results will be now, which is good because I wasn't really interested at all in the build up to Drones, or The 2nd Law for that matter. I think The Resistance was kind of responsible for that. Hopefully Dig Down is a promising starting point for whatever comes next though. We shall see soon enough, I guess.
