Guest bshuker
On the pod it's just the Whammy model being controlled via midi. Same as if it was an actual Whammy really.
the_man361
I'm not exactly sure but I'm pretty sure it is sequenced whammies. How does the effect on the pod work? Do you need a computer for it? Because Matt has one of those. Â yes i used a laptop to sequence the pod with cubase as seen here

Musemaniac#2
Whats the tuning for map, because in HAARP (wembley) after like the first chorus he plays the riff, I think on the 6 string, and it sounds really low, much lower than a e-tuned string, anyone help me out? Also some tab for that how that part is played would be great!

Musemaniac#2
cheers about the string, but no not the maggie's farm thing, I mean on the HAARP dvd from the 17th, after the 1st or 2nd chorus, instead of going back to usual riff he plays it diffrently, lower than usual, he doesnt do it on the cd though. ringemaster
Hi everyone.....my first post here. Just thought I'd share that there's an all-in-one unit that can do this type of sound. It's called the Axe-FX Ultra. I made a patch to demonstrate......I didn't spend too much time on the distortion sound of it, but rather just wanted to show off the arpeggiator aspect of it: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=798502 You can check out the unit at http://www.fractalaudio.com and the forum for it at: http://www.setbb.com/axefx/index.php?sid=1f6272803d2e64d7d6d876699ab389dc&mforum=axefx

ringemaster
thanks I might try to tweak it a bit more to get the distortion sound right, but it was really easy to pull together and I don't need a computer.

I don't see how it's possible for any of the after MotP riffage to be different between the dvd and the cd, they are the same recording. Reason being, his guitar cut out on the 17th when he went to play the Maggies Farm riff. Tricky editing makes it look seamless

I thought that maybe they wouldn't be allowed to play it as they were filming the DVD and it isn't their riff, but I was wrong

JT
Right, realised that a while after I posted it, but couldn't be bothered changing it Would've thought they would use the entire footage from one night instead of splicing in the riffage at the end though. Musemaniac#2
They arent the same recording, look at the disks; The Cd is recorded from the 16th, the dvd is recorded on the 17th So yes, they are different.
Musemaniac#2
so still does anyone have my answer??
JT
If you read what I wrote, the Maggie's Farm riffage is the same, because when Bellamy went to play it on the 17th, his guitar screwed up. The actual song is different though. About your question, do you mean the bit just before he starts the riff? Can't give you a tab for it, but just hit some random notes not as high on the neck till you find it I guess.
Musemaniac#2
no after the first chorus he goes back to the riff, when that little like bass and synth bit plays, before he goes into "loenlyness be over" etc. he plays the riff (on the dvd) really low on the 6th string. Doog
er... if you're talking about the part of the song I think you mean (and tbf I'd class the 'loneliness be over' bit as the chorus but I'm assuming you're talking about 'I can't get it right since I met you'), then he just plays the root notes on the top string. it's actually just about the easiest part of the song to play oh and he does do it on the cd
Musemaniac#2
sounded shit when i did it.. OMG YEH I know why, i didnt have the 6 string tuned down to the C, Nicee ty. I didnt realise he did it on the cd too i didnt think he did.
