an 8 bit tribute... that sounds really cool....

here's a couple of mp3's of some songs me and one mf my friends have been working on. they're a bit rough though we only started writing and recording a few weeks ago, we're sorta industrialish alt rock sorta stuff. not that we're trying to pigeon hole ourselves too much.. anyway some feedback would be great from ye guys.

thanks in advance!

Safety bit doesnt start till about 10 seconds in btw, sorry!

Might aswell post an update about my band. We released an EP world wide on Friday, it was a fantastic day.

You can now find the EP on Amazon, iTunes, 7Digital, HMV, Tescos, we7, Rhapsody, Napster, emusic, Nokia music, Zune and may more. Search for 'CaptainHorizon'.

It's also on spotify, so those who have spotify can search and stream it.

Got a gig in Evesham, Nottingham and Dudley this weekend :)

Anyone got a recording of their band doing assassin, either studio or live? I'm really interested to see how they've done it.

my friends band did a studio recording of it a year or so ago.. see what you think. the drummer is studying a phd in drum performance at cambridge university

"If Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins and an alcoholic crack-whore made a baby and the baby started to cry, that crying noise would sound a lot like Mister Pink."

If you like distortion, noise and pedals mixed with pop sensibilities you should have a listen.

Haha, the sister of a friends friend is running various charity events around the place and one of them is a gig there...

ahh thats so cool, we're just starting out, finding it so hard to get gigs! luckily we played a charity gig and someone liked us, got us booked to do another, sadly other venues arent following suit

The main thing is to have a couple of decent recordings online - myspace is still best for this because it's quick and easy to listen and find out a bit about the band... Then go to gigs/partys/bars/clubs/etc and network.

You can try messaging promoters online but you're much more likely to get decent gigs from face-to-face stuff :)
