It's usually a good idea to bring one person along who knows the band and how you want to sound, unless you actually know the sound guy you are working with.

I've seen massive arguments because of this. If you are the type who doesn't care about a soundman hating you at your gig, go ahead. Otherwise, it may be best to leave it. Some soundguys will listen to your mate, but some will just get angry and make your set sound shit.

Heyo, got another random GarageBand thingy, but yeah. It's actually only the ending chunk that got vocals slapped on it, the rest is only instrumental and therefore not exciting to post right now. Needs a LOT of editing with volume levels and cutoffs of different tracks, but I'm kinda excited about it-

It's the second from the top, "Rough version- Untitled ending"

Nice one! What's the new band name then? Do you play in Manchester? I'd come to a gig there.

we changed it to The Fall of Industry, as some other band popped up who are signed and decided they also liked the name Industry, who weren't about when we started

we may have a gig in manchester sometime, we're trying to limit the number of shows we play right now, and mainly just do fewer, better gigs.. so if theres a decent venue and we can get enough people down / its worth playing, then we may :)

If I can be there I will be, just off to France around that time, so can't make any promises until everything is booked.

cool.

Depending on how well known you can prove you are you probably could have won the name back.

even though they have a label and shits?

It's not based upon who's signeat name for how long and what size of market(s) the two parties are aiming at.

If you're bothered about it, it'd be worth getting some advice off the PRS assuming you're a member.

heres my band just playing at a local open mic night, its not a muse cover, its coldplay, but there isn't a Youtube Covers thread so I thought this would be appropriate!

Please comment and rate!

Sounds good, wish the camera wasn't on it's side through most of it though.

Apart from that, you sound like a tight band.:D

Hey all,

My band Sigils (Formerly Myr, Goat, Architect, and The Hills Have Eyes) have recorded our second EP/album (30 minutes, seven tracks, so I guess it's a mini-album).

I wanted your feedback before we record vocals and do the final mix, because I started my musical journey here on this forum like six years ago or something.

Anyway, I hope you all will listen. I think it sounds very professional, but I still want some feedback before we do the final mix. I know it's kinda hard to make judgements based on the instrumental tracks, as vocals are a big part of the sound, but try to be objective and technical here. If you like the music, or dislike it, feel free to post your thoughts as well.

For the Muse fans I guess there are some Muse inspired moments on this record, mainly the later parts of track 4.

So, please, please, listen and give it to me straight.

Love,

Simen,

Sigils
