It is an issue though. Say a double album has two discs with 12 songs each. Chances are they'd only play about 10 of them. Muse aren't exactly known for being great at mixing shit up between gigs.

I also have an issue with the fact that double albums are tedious as fuck to listen to in full.

Really don't see how that's an issue.

Sorry - meant 12 songs each so 24 in total and only about 10 would see the light of day unless they rotate to the point of pretty much having a totally different setlist each night. I'd absolutely love if they did that though, but it would be extremely unlikely.

Then again a double album is just as unlikely.

You basically don't want something you'd probably enjoy because you possibly wouldn't get something else you'd also enjoy afterwards.

Well when you put it like that

Weren't Black Holes and Revelations planned as a triple album in the beginning?

Yup, "Black", "Holes" and "Revelations".

is it inappropriate that I find the name "Holes" fucking hilarious?

No just childish.

And yes, they had plans for such a thing, with 10-20 minute songs etc. Then they moved to a studio in LA or something and got inspired by club music.
