  1. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] Got a lot of time on my hands at the moment, so I've been putting a few songs up on my Soundcloud. Wrote this one last night. First one in a while that I've been pretty happy with. I'm not much of a recorder/mixer, but the song is what it is.
  2. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] A bit messy, and not really how I heard it in my head, but here's a cover of Emilie Simon's Je T'aime Je T'aime Je T'aime. Also, I don't actually speak French so I have no idea if what I'm saying actually sounds right. If any French speaking people listen to it, I'd be interested to know how well I actually said the lyrics.
  3. Here's a couple I've taken since being away. Cleared out a lot of shit from my Flickr, suddenly realised how much of my stuff tends to be black and white. Rear View Mirror by Alex Porritt, on Flickr Own Two Feet by Alex Porritt, on Flickr Street Violinist by Alex Porritt, on Flickr Skelton by Alex Porritt, on Flickr Dat Ass by Alex Porritt, on Flickr Zorki 4 by Alex Porritt, on Flickr
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5XnyJHVTG4 There's some Muse and other stuff on my channel too, if anyone's interested.
  5. I sent my dad the Thunderbirds video, which he greatly enjoyed. He then sent me a link to the Iron Man 3 soundtrack and said 'Nice work, son. Now play this.' And so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UffEy8oLdiw&feature=youtu.be
  6. I work on the photography department at a PC World and I've always been surprised how badly Pentax's sell. I mean whenever I need to do a stealth fart I go to the Pentax section because I know nobody will be there.
  7. 40mm pancake is my next purchase, hopefully in a month or so. Check Digitalrev.com, they had a few in stock last time I checked, and a sale on too.
  8. Born to entertain. It legit does sound like that though, and its so fucking frustratingly inaccurate as well. And slow.
  9. +1 for the Canon 600D, probably one of the most popular entry level DSLRs around at the moment. If you're after a decent second lens, the 50mm f1.8 punches well above it's price point. Properly garbage build quality and the focus sounds like a dying cat, but its absolutely impossible to fault the picture quality for £80.
  10. Fuck you Dom, you've got me in the mood to put another guitar together. Very tempted to get together some Telecaster parts, or maybe something Teisco-y. But for now: DaphneRAW by IntelligentAl, on Flickr
  11. Cheers very much! And there I was concerned I might be the only fan of anything I ever do
  12. I'm fairly happy that I'm not limited to 200 photos now, but the design is a bit much for me. There's so much going on, but none of it particular easy to get around. But I try not to complain too much about things I don't pay for. Also, managed to sell my 75-300mm lens for a decent price, so thought I would take one last photo with it before I boxed it up: Flight by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Going for that b&w film look, that way I can claim it as 'art'.
  13. Dat feel when you are finally succesful at digitising film negatives with your DSLR: Middleton 4 by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Middleton 3 by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Middleton 1 by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Also, not sure if anyone will be bothered but I just listed my Canon 75-300mm lens on ebay. Not a particularly special lens, but not bad, I just never used it. Link is below if anyone is interested: 75-300 by IntelligentAl, on Flickr http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Canon-EF-75-300mm-f-4-0-5-6-III-Lens-/261213347277?pt=UK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses&hash=item3cd1875dcd
  14. Well maybe if you weren't so FUCKING SOUTHERN. I'll try and get you the audio then, I think Dan even has some recordings of songs you've never heard before. Not fussy as long as a dick is getting sucked.
  15. I never noticed the Hyper Music thing until now. Clearly Matt Bellamy is just pouring out of my every creative orifice. And to be honest I think a decent recording would probably do more good than more mixing. We always seem rushed when we record But if you like, Dom, I can try and get you the raw recordings from Dan to have a go at mixing them yourself? I think he uses Pro Tools, but I honestly have no clue what he does behind that monitor of his. Recording and mixing scares the shit out of me I do it for the blowjobs and nothing else.
  16. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] I appreciate that this isn't quite on the same level as Hole In My Pocket, but we can't write masterpieces every time.
  17. Gonna spam because I've been gone for ages: [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhfsujxBc-M&feature=youtu.be The Red House cover is loads old but only got uploaded recently. Hopefully gonna have some decent recordings of original stuff on soundcloud within a week. And now I will disappear again yo.
  18. I do try Cheers though, colourising is cool but the only issue I've found is that Flickr adjusts the colour ever so slightly when you upload.
  19. Been away from the boards for a few months, here's a few I took. Ruth Rayburn by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Ruth Rayburn - On The Bridge by IntelligentAl, on Flickr Those were both taken while I was shooting a student film, so there were plenty of photo opportunities. I also got Photoshop, so I've tried my hand at colourising a lot of the black and white photos I took. And finally, there was this one. InkGlass1 by IntelligentAl, on Flickr
  20. Ok the second photo was probably a bad example, but I didn't feel like going through my whole Flickr, so I'll clarify what I was saying too. A crooked horizon has to suit the picture. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Sometimes its to your taste, sometimes it isn't. The thing I took issue with though, was saying that any photo with a crooked horizon is a bad photo, or the sign of a bad photographer, because that isn't always necessarily the case.
  21. I get your points, and cheers for the compliments, but my main point was that a crooked horizon isn't always a bad thing, and certainly not the sign of a bad photographer.
  22. I'd disagree with that. If a photo is deliberately angled, that's a stylistic choice. It doesn't necessarily mean that the photographer is inexperienced or anything at all. In fact to be quite honest, if every photo I ever looked at was perfectly horizontal, it'd probably get boring after a while. Some photos just look better angled, simple as that. Like these two for example, I took these at an angle deliberately. Perhaps I'm just a terrible photographer, but to me they wouldn't have worked nearly as well if they were perfectly straight.
